Ronix Sea Captain Tuff Tech Wakesurf Board

The Ronix Sea Captain Tuff Tech Wakesurf Board is a thruster-inspired surf-style wakesurfer built for riders who want strong edge hold, fast rail-to-rail response, and a more locked-in, connected feel on the wave.

Why It Stands Out

  • On-the-Rail Drive: The Sea Captain is shaped for riders who want aggressive edge hold and a board that bites into turns instead of feeling loose or skatey.
  • Narrower Outline: Its slimmer profile lets the board sit deeper in the water, creating stronger engagement with the face of the wave and more confident cutbacks.
  • Thruster-Inspired Feel: This design brings a more powerful surf-style personality with quicker reaction time than many traditional wakesurf boards.
  • Tuff Tech Construction: Ronix’s molded Tuff Tech build pairs durability with lighter weight and a more affordable construction, while the protective Surface Skin helps reduce drag on the water.
  • Simple Button Fin Setup: The Button Fin System makes fin installation and removal fast and tool-free, keeping setup easy at the boat.

Ideal For

This board is ideal for wakesurfers who want a surf-style shape with more drive, stronger rail engagement, and a powerful cutback. It is especially well suited to riders who prefer a more connected board feel and want quicker reactions than a more traditional surf cruiser.

The Details

  • Board Style: Surf-style / thruster-inspired wakesurf board
  • Construction: Tuff Tech
  • Available Sizes: 4'4", 4'7", and 4'10"
  • Performance: All Levels
  • Fin System: Button Fin System
  • Included Fins: 3 x 3" Blueprint fiberglass fins
  • Traction: Machined EVA front / rear pad
  • Additional Features: Lava Resin and Core Vents

How It Compares

Compared with a more relaxed traditional surfer, the Sea Captain is quicker reacting and more edge-driven. Its narrower outline and deeper water engagement give it a more powerful, locked-in turning feel for riders who want stronger cutbacks and more directional drive.

Bottom Line: The Ronix Sea Captain Tuff Tech Wakesurf Board is a responsive surf-style wakesurfer for riders who want powerful rail drive, confident edge hold, and durable all-level performance.

Choose the size that matches your weight range and ride a board built for fast reactions, stronger turns, and a more connected surf feel.

I was pleased to see the new complete translation of Picatrix by Dan Attrell and David Porreca released in the Magic in History Series of Penn State Press. Picatrix is central to European astrological magic that it deserves an academic treatment. In addition, the willingness of Penn State Press to release a complete translation of Picatrix shows how things have changed in the past decade and the yeoman work done by mages such as Austin Coppock, Alexander Cummins and Cliff Low to delve deeply into astrological magic. As the translators point out at page 2 this version of Picatrix is, "specifically intended for students and scholars of the history of science and magic" In addition to the complete text of the Latin Picatrix in English translation the translators provide useful historical accounts of the pre-history of Picatrix and of the Latin text, Picatrix's exposition of the path of the sage, the use of the terminology nigromancia for astrological magic and the cosmology of Picatrix. Most interesting is a statistical breakdown of the types of magic in Picatrix. Finally, the translators elucidate their view of the importance of psychoactive drugs in ritual, though the translators insist at page 28 that they do not, "wish to suggest that all magic in the Picatrix can be explained away as drug addled delusion…" Coming as it does from an academic perspective, focused on history and social science the Attrell and Porreca translation provides a valuable orientation and background for the contemporary practitioner of astrological magic. No single translation can do justice to a work as complex as Picatrix and anyone who is serious about astrological magic or interested in Picatrix should certainly get a copy of the Attrell and Porreca translation as well as the Greer and Warnock Picatrix and the forthcoming Arabic Picatrix translation.

Great and important translation
Format: Hardcover
I've seen a few interviews with the author and now having the book, I can confirm that this is both an important and comprehensive effort at translating the original text into English, revising previous efforts and taking much more of the cultural context into account. If you wish to understand this important text's place in the history of Western esoteric writing, then I highly recommend this translation!
