ابھی تک ژاک دریدا کے مذکورہ متن کے بارے میں جو نکات پیش کیے گئے ہیں ان کی مدد سے، اس بات کا اندازہ لگایا جا سکتا ہے کہ مغرب کے فلسفیانہ متون میں اس کی حیثیت نمایاں ہے۔ اسی وجہ سے اردو تنقید میں بھی اس کا ذکر مختلف حوالوں سے ہوتا آیا ہے۔ البتہ یہ سوال اپنی جگہ اہم ہے کہ اردو تنقید میں اس متن کی جو تعبیر کی گئی وہ اس متن سے کسی حد تک مطابقت رکھتی ہے؟ چوں کہ اردو تنقید میں اس متن کا حوالہ اہم سمجھا جاتا ہے اس لیے کہا جا سکتا ہے کہ اسے اردو زبان کے قالب میں ڈھالنے کی اشد ضرورت تھی تا کہ اس میں پیش کردہ مباحث پر زیادہ بہتر انداز میں بات ہو سکے۔ تاہم ابھی تک اس متن کا ( مناسب ) ترجمہ اردو قاری کے سامنے نہیں آسکا تھا۔

اس متن میں پیش کردہ تناظر مغرب کی فلسفیانہ روایت سے منسلک ہے چناں چہ اسے اردو زبان میں ترجمہ کرتے وقت اگر ترجمے میں ( زبان کے حوالے سے ) مطلوبہ تہذیبی رچاؤ کا اہتمام نہ کیا گیا تو متن ، آدھ کئے جملوں کا انبار بن جائے گا۔ سو ترجمے کے دوران پیدا ہونے والے اس گھمبیر مسئلے کو سامنے رکھتے ہوئے دریدا کے متن کا ترجمہ انسانی علوم کے کلامیے میں ساخت ، نشان اور کھیل“ کے عنوان سے کیا جا رہا ہے۔ عین ممکن ہے کہ اب بھی مذکورہ مسئلے سے چھٹکارا نہ ملا ہو تا ہم اس ضمن میں ایک ( طالب علمانہ ) کاوش ضروری تھی۔

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
