Piaget Oval Ellipse Onyx Black Dial Diamond Bezel Ref. 9826 – White Gold Elegance with Iconic Cal. 9P1

A rare creation from Piaget’s golden era, the Oval Ellipse Ref. 9826 combines the maison’s mastery of ultra-thin horology with the glamour of high jewelry design. Crafted in solid 18K white gold and adorned with a factory-set diamond bezel framing a rich onyx-black dial, this piece epitomizes refined 1970s–1980s Piaget elegance. More jewel than mere watch, yet housing the legendary Calibre 9P1, it is a discreet statement of wealth, taste, and technical finesse.

The Case – White Gold Brilliance & Diamond Radiance

The 23 x 28mm oval case is fashioned from solid 18K white gold, its elegant curvature highlighted by an original factory-set diamond bezel. The watch remains in excellent unpolished condition, with sharp case edges and well-preserved gold hallmarks—a rarity among vintage Piaget pieces. Its slim architecture underscores Piaget’s reputation as a pioneer of ultra-thin luxury dress watches.

Protecting the dial is a mineral crystal, while the original Piaget-signed white gold crown completes the elegant silhouette.

The Dial – Perfect Black Onyx Minimalism

The dial is executed in pure black onyx, the absence of markers or ornament emphasizing Piaget’s commitment to clean, minimalist luxury. It is immaculate and untouched—deep, glossy, and endlessly elegant. This austere beauty allows the diamonds of the bezel to sparkle all the more brilliantly.

Movement – Legendary Piaget Ultra-Thin Cal. 9P1

Inside beats the manual-winding Piaget Calibre 9P1, one of the most important ultra-thin movements in Swiss watchmaking. Recently serviced, it runs with excellent timekeeping and is offered with a one-year mechanical warranty. This legendary movement, measuring just 2mm thick, was central to Piaget’s reputation as the master of slim, high-jewelry timepieces.

Strap & Buckle

The watch is paired with a handmade black Belgian crocodile strap, complementing the onyx dial. Securing the piece is an original 18K white gold Piaget buckle—an essential detail for collectors seeking authenticity.

Why This Watch?

The Piaget Oval Ellipse Ref. 9826 is an exceptional blend of jewelry artistry and mechanical ingenuity. Its oval shape, diamond-set bezel, and flawless onyx dial are emblematic of Piaget’s design codes during the maison’s most glamorous era. The presence of the original Cal. 9P1, unpolished white gold case, and signed buckle elevate this piece into the realm of serious connoisseurship.

For collectors of haute horlogerie and vintage jewelry watches, this example is both rare and significant—a true showcase of Piaget’s dual mastery in diamonds and ultra-thin watchmaking.

Fun if a bit offbeat upper elementary fantasy
Format: Hardcover
I read this in one afternoon and have to say I enjoyed it. The cast of characters are incredibly diverse, and for the most part this is a believable story (despite the undead magicians and ridiculous outhouse) This story is a "Hatfields vs McCoys" if the two hillbilly families were magicians and were feuding over how they practice instead of over moonshine and land. This brings me to my first gripe with the novel. The dense dialogue in accents. For a middle grade book, the text is filled with a lot of phonetic spellings and backwards english. I guess it is to be atmospheric, but it just makes the characters seem dumb. And that is sad because they are not. Stubborn, and sometimes too preoccupied to see what is under their noses but not stupid. I sometimes felt that the characters had been written into a corner so there were multiple instances of "because magic" and convenient acts of random fortuitous "we have everything we need and don't have to search more because the Luck Gods were smiling". Once or twice I completely missed how the characters got from point A to point B and I Really dislike "wave a wand and everything is good and the mortals forget what happened". A little convenient magic written to solve a solution is fine. But the ending sort of feels a little flat when a Major concern for the entire novel is resolved by sleight of hand. On the whole though, the characters are likable, and age appropriate (though a bit whiny at times for this parent ;-p) and I liked that diversity isn't a "cause" its just an adjective...As in, there is a gay couple who act like every other parent in the story. There is a deaf younger brother who isn't treated as 'precious' but as a functioning human. Even one of the main characters is intersex and does question "Am I girl enough to be a witch". None of the cast of characters feels forced or out of place making this a nice addition to my kid's library. ARC free in exchange for an honest review.

As parents, we absolutely love the author’s books, and this one—Construction Site: A Thankful Night—is no exception! The lift-the-flap feature keeps our kids engaged, and they love discovering the surprises hidden inside. The story is perfect for Thanksgiving, teaching kids about gratitude in a fun and interactive way. The colorful illustrations and familiar construction site characters make it even more enjoyable for our little ones. We’re huge fans of this series, and our kids can’t get enough! Highly recommend for young readers!
