What is it which makes a Shakespearian tragedy, and what dramatic themes and conventions did the bard draw upon when writing them? In this Very Short Introduction Stanley Wells considers what is meant by the word 'tragedy', and discusses nine of Shakespeare's iconic tragic plays. He explores how the early definitions and theoretical discussions of the concept of tragedy in Shakespeare's time would have influenced these plays, along with the literary influence of Seneca. Wells also considers Shakespeare's uses of the word 'tragedy' itself, analysing whether he had any overall concept of the genre in relation to the drama, and looking at the ways in which the theatrical conventions of his time shaped his plays, such as the use of boy players in women's roles and the physical structures of the playhouses. Offering a critical analysis of each of the nine plays in turn, Wells concludes by discussing why tragedy is regarded as fit subject for entertainment, and what it is about tragic plays that audiences find so enjoyable. None of the dogs are interested

My Mini Schnauzer wasn’t at all interested, and she usually at least explores a new toy a little. I even tried rubbing food on it.
I washed it & gave it to my brother who has a Belgian Malinois (?) & it was a no go. We rescued a Goldendoodle & she won’t even hold it in her mouth if I hand it to her.
My guess is that the toy is too heavy & the rubber has an off putting smell. This one got 3 strikes from not very picky dogs.

Great for a medium chewer!

Bought this for my Standard Poodle. He's a year old, 65 pounds, and loves to chew but doesn't have the jaw strength of some of my previous dogs (I think my pit bull would have destroyed this in short order!). This works well for him; it's his favorite toy for fetching. It bounces in an unpredictable manner when you throw it so he has fun chasing and retrieving it. It is heavy so be careful throwing it in the house! I like these shapes better than balls that will roll far under things and be difficult to retrieve. I don't know that I would leave him alone with it in case he did chew a piece off, but for monitored play I highly recommend. I'll definitely buy more if these ever wear out but I don't see that happening in the near future!

Smells like rubber.

I bought this flavored nylabone for my dog because he had one that he just loved and it finally had to be thrown out. So I bought him this one and he won't even chew on it. All it smells like is rubber. No flavor smell AT ALL. But our other dog chews anything and he chews this so I kept it. I won't buy nylabone again.

The best toys for dogs I could ever find
Size: X Large
I have bull terriers. They chew wood for fun... But this brand in the appropiate size and in any shape has been the best thing for them! They last for a very long time (they have not even dented them and they've had one (another shape) for the last two years. Now I bought these bones so that they can play together, each graving one side of it. They have so much fun! They are worth every penny.
