Including samplings from Anthropolitical Motivations, The Deluged Gods, and Listen to These Stones Stanislav Szukalski (1893-1987) was a Polish-born sculptor, writer, graphic artist, and heretic. Highly regarded in both the US and Poland between the World Wars, he lapsed into obscurity, living and working in "America's Cultural Siberia" (Southern California) until comic art collector Glenn Bray rediscovered him in 1973. For forty years, Szukalski had developed his all-encompassing science "Zermatism" about the origin of Man, laid down in 39 heavily illustrated volumes with subjects such as "Universal Pictography," "The Flood Scumline," and "Anthropolitical Motivations." The work sets out to prove, among much else, that "Man-apes" make bad politicians, and that all Humanity stemmed from Easter Island, sharing a common protolanguage, "Protong" (bearing a striking resemblance to present-day Polish). Behold The Protong, first published by Bray in 1980, was the first book in 50 years to bring Szukalski's work to the light of the American public. It is a modest selection from the thousands of drawings in the Zermatism oeuvre. The Work of Szukalski (Covici-McGee, 1923) and Projects in Design (University of Chicago Press, 1929) showed the young Szukalski's strength as artist-sculptor. Fun Way to Teach Manners
Format: Hardcover
This book was one I read to my daughters when they were young and I am now reading it to my grandsons. I plan to read it to my fourth grade class, as well.

... over with my 3yo and 5yo boys but they loved it!

I wasn't sure how this would go over with my 3yo and 5yo boys but they loved it!! They always enjoy pulling it out and now I can refer back to the characters to remind them of their manners in a more positive way. The only thing is I kinda wish they had used a different animal than pig, since for some reason I don't like saying "don't be like the pigs" (since I don't really want them calling eachother or other kids pigs). But so far it has been fine :) It's also very nice they included "Be kind to animals, they have feelings too." We say that all the time around here since we have kitties. Also the part about table manners is great since we had already been teaching the kids to ask before being excused from the table.

Manners Can Be Fun

What a cute book! I bought it for my 2 and 3 year old boys. We are attempting to teach them simple, common manners in a fun way and they love learning through books. Manners Can Be Fun presents manners in a simple, easy to understand, engaging way. The boys enjoy reading this book and it's a great way to have positive conversations about specific situations they experience daily like sharing toys, picking up after themselves, whining, meal time. It's a fun book!

Wonderful, simple book for children of all ages
Format: Hardcover
I am 65 years old and this was one of my first books. The revisions along the way have not changed the drawings that much. It is simple, but well illustrated, and gives a basic idea of good manners. I recommend it for every child - it makes them think about behavior. The way the author demonstrates "me first" and "whinney" have stuck with me all these years.

LOVE
Format: Hardcover
I must say, I was very touched by this book, the heart behind it specifically. What beautiful illustrations. Our son with autism absolutely LOVES his ABCS and LOVES planes trains and automobiles. Little boys are a gift from God and this book highlights that. From one parent to another, thank you, we all loved it and loved watching his little eyes turn bright and light up. Big hugs.
