This charming original oil on board painting by Swedish artist Carl Johan Allan Åsberg (1907–1952) depicts the famous Café des Deux Magots in Paris, one of the city's most celebrated literary and artistic landmarks. Executed with confident impressionistic brushwork, the composition captures the warmth and atmosphere of a sunlit Parisian square, with historic architecture, café awnings, and strolling figures rendered in a lively palette of ochres, creams, blues, and earthy greens.

The painting beautifully combines architectural detail with an expressive painterly approach, evoking the romance and cultural richness of early twentieth-century Paris. The iconic café, long associated with artists, writers, and intellectuals, serves as the focal point of the composition, making this work especially appealing to collectors of European cityscapes and French-themed interiors.

Presented in an elegant dark wood frame with a gilt liner.

👨🎨 About the Artist:
Carl Johan Allan Åsberg was a Swedish painter born in Gravarne, Bohuslän, Sweden, in 1907, and died in Malmö in 1952. According to the period biographical label attached to the reverse, Åsberg studied in Germany as well as in North and South America. He became known for painting winter landscapes, marine subjects, harbor scenes, and city views, distinguished by a strong sense of color and atmosphere.

A second period note attached to the reverse praises Åsberg's paintings of harbor scenes with sailing vessels, views of Stockholm, and winter landscapes. The text specifically highlights his broad painting technique, keen eye for picturesque subjects, and accomplished use of color. These original gallery and exhibition labels add valuable provenance and historical context to the work.

The reverse of the board is inscribed "Le metier des artistes – Terrasse des Deux Magots," directly referencing the famous Paris café depicted on the front.

Electric grinders
Color: Black/Black
Easy to refill. We use pink Himalayan salt and the grinder does well. It seems to struggle a bit with the peppercorns bit still gets the job done. The light is nice. We have enjoyed the ease of use. It also looks nice on the counter. The holder is great as it catches any fine debris after use. I purchased this one as it uses actual batteries and not something else I have to charge. They have been used daily for 2 months and have not needed to change the batteries yet.

I Feel Like a Fancy Chef Every Time I Season My Fries
Color: Green
This Salt and Pepper Grinder, Electric Automatic has officially upgraded my kitchen from “microwave expert” to “TV cooking show contestant.” One button press and suddenly I’m seasoning food with dramatic confidence like I know exactly what I’m doing. The automatic grinding works smoothly and quickly, and I love how consistent the grind size is. Whether I want a fine sprinkle or a coarser grind, it handles both perfectly. The motor is surprisingly strong, and it doesn’t struggle or jam like some cheaper grinders I’ve used before. The design also looks sleek and modern sitting on the counter. It feels comfortable in the hand, easy to refill, and the clear container makes it simple to see when it’s time for more salt or pepper. Huge bonus: no wrist workout required. My manual grinder used to make me feel like I was training for an arm wrestling tournament. I’ve been using it daily, and now even scrambled eggs get five star restaurant treatment. Friends noticed it immediately and asked where I got it which made me feel unnecessarily sophisticated for someone eating frozen pizza. Overall, convenient, stylish, and genuinely useful. If you want effortless seasoning with a little extra kitchen drama, this grinder is a winner

Good BASIC Set
Color: Black/Black
I just got these a week ago. I like them, but I wished I would have gotten some with more features. I never had electric grinders so I am comparing them to hand grinding. It's a step up for sure. It was easy to load the batteries, but it seems four batteries per grinder is a lot. I hope they last a while. Loading the salt and pepper was rather easy also. It's nice to have control on the size of the grind, but I wish there was control on the amount it puts out on one quick press of the button. It was too much in my opinion. It does have a light at the bottom so you can see how much seasoning you are putting on the food. The tray they sit in gets dirty very quickly, so you will have to wash it out frequently. This is a good basic set for the price, they do the job of grinding the seasoning. However, in hindsight, I would have picked some with more features and a little more decoration.
