Andromeda Gongs are handmade in the Netherlands by gong artist Jesse Blauwhof. Jesse began working with metal at a young age, later introduced to musical instruments like gongs through the work of Ton Akkermans at "Creation of Sound".
Andromeda 16" Buri Gongs were created as part of Blauwhof’s ongoing search into the inner qualities of iron. On the surface, he has found that the energies of iron and steel can be hard, unyielding, and aggressive. Through his work, Blauwhof has begun to move through those initial energies of the first layer, discovering new fields of inner life.
He has discovered that iron can be a bright, vital force of pure light, with feminine energies shining in a joyous manner. It is this more balanced, living force that he finds shining forth in the figure of Búri from the old norse sagas, for which these gongs are named.
At 16" this gong is the perfect handheld gong to bring a new range of sounds to your sound baths. Use this gong to accent your larger gongs during sound baths and group gong meditations.
