THE MOMENT

When designing this fragrance, we wanted to mimic the actual 'Day of the Dead' festival in Mexico. We wanted the smell of bonfires; delicate floral notes from bouquets placed on alters as offerings; citrus notes from the garnish on the tequilas; and amber to represent this wisdom of the elders and give courage to face death... and we think we nailed it. We chose this stunning glassware to enhance the silouettes of the items adorning it... but the final decoration is left for you.

PERSONALISATION

The gold oval plaque is intentionally blank, so you can use the template provided to cut out a photo of a loved one that recently passed, and dedicate your candle to them. If you reply to us via the order confirmation email and attach a digital photo of who you want to honor we will print it and apply it to the candle for you before we ship it. 

SIGNIFICANCE

Mexico's Day of the Dead is less of a mourning and more a joyful celebration where family and friends gather to pay respects to loved ones who've died. Funny anecdotes are about them and they're honoured via home altars (ofrendas) filled with their favorite foods and drinks, decorative skulls (calaveras) and marigolds (cempazúchitl). They also visit their graves with these items as gifts.

The official Dia de los Muertos in Mexico is on November 1st-2nd, 2022
