Vinyl LP pressing including bonus seven inch vinyl single. Guided By Voices Inc. Is more excited than a bucket of photo-excited electrons to announce the 20th anniversary reissue of Robert Pollard's first solo album Not In My Airforce. Originally released by Matador Records on September 10, 1996, the album includes several songs that have become fan favorites and staples of GBV live shows throughout the years: "Psychic Pilot Clocks Out, " "Flat Beauty, " "Quicksilver, " "Get Under It, " and "Maggie Turns To Flies, " among others. Other album tracks have inspired a band name ("Release The Sunbird"), a music blog ("The Ash Gray Proclamation") and a record label ("Prom Is Coming"). We're pretty sure that at least one British nuclear missile-equipped submarine has been named after "Parakeet Troopers, " but MI6 refuses to confirm. The vinyl version of the album includes a six-song seven-inch single, which was the original plan in 1996, before the bean-counters insisted on combining the bonus songs with the CD and LP. These bonus songs ("Party, " "Did It Play?, " "Double Standards Inc., " "Punk Rock Gods, " "Meet My Team, " and "Good Luck Sailor") swelled the original release to 22 songs-not that there's anything wrong with that. Everyone can agree that more Bob is good. The charming, good-looking, record-buying public would like to hear NIMAF as both God and Bob originally intended. This is a landmark recording in the Pollardian corpus, in that it both presaged the flood of solo albums, side projects, collaborations, and line-up changes to come, and established the precedent that Robert Pollard, whether solo or in concert with his Dayton, OH, pals, is a flat-out miracle worker of songcraft.

It's great but be warned...
Format: Kindle
I enjoyed the idea of this story. I really did! The story was great, the characters were great, and I had a decent enough time reading. I did however, find myself forcing myself to finish this and skimming through a lot of the series. The pacing was slow which is fine, but it was repetitive. Every single conversation Lydia had with these men always had to have some deeper meaning. Even when I thought there would be a light hearted reprieve, it always ended with another lecture or bit of advice. It felt like I was watching her interact with her multitude of therapists than men she was being courted by. I understand this was a path of healing for her but it got very old very fast. It felt excessive in every way to me and this aspect never changed throughout the entire story. Imagine reading an overly inspirational self help book where they tried to make it interesting by throwing in romance? Which again, could work in many cases but it was so excessive to me.
That being said, I still think it was a great story and I think everyone should give this a chance!

Absolutely perfect
Format: Kindle
All of the characters are so expertly developed. They all support Lydia with unwavering understanding while she slowly opens up. I liked that the main conflict wasn’t between the pack and it instead pulled them closer together. This is honestly such a perfect feel good cozy omegaverse. There were some typos sprinkled through out but not enough to be irritating.

Wonderful
Format: Kindle
What a wonderful long read, with depth, emotions, storyline and a touch of $mut. This story was definitely more centered around the storyline rather than any $ex scenes and lived up to “Cozy Omegaverse”. We saw the pack dynamic’s evolve as she was ready for them to evolve, they were patient with her and allowed her to break free from her own constraints.
Amazing!

A Nice Story
Format: Kindle
I love Omegaverse and its many stories. The book is a wonderful story. The characters are intriguing and are each unique. There were a few issues with repetitive phrases through out the book and a few misspellings but the biggest issue was the very painful slow burn. I feel if it weren’t so slow
It could have incorporated more content about each character. Overall a solid story though.

decent…but
Format: Kindle
This is my first book from this author, and while I do really love omegaverse stories, this one left a lot to be desired. This book is a hard-core slow, slow, slow burn: (75% or later in the book)
I will say that I finished it. Unfortunately, I struggled through a lot of it due to punctuation errors, and general editing that must have been looked over during the revision process.
I also feel like a lot of information was left out and there wasn’t closure regarding her parents. The dynamic of the pack before Lydia joined is a little confusing, the only person who showed affection towards Elias was the Head alpha. The other two seemed indifferent to him in an intimate relationship way. That doesn’t really scream cohesive pack to me.
I am hopeful that the next book in the series is better edited, and that the author decides not to use the same phrases over and over again. I’m pretty sure “honey-warm” was mentioned over 15 times when describing Elias’s scent. That got really old, really fast.
Overall, it was a decent book. Not sure I would read it again or recommend it until of these errors are remedied.
