Su diapasón de ébano Macassar presenta incrustaciones onduladas perladas y 24 trastes extra-jumbo. El sonido de la KH-V está potenciado por un juego de pastillas EMG Bone Breaker características de Kirk, con el puente cerámico BB-B y las pastillas de mástil BB-N de alnico 5 para conseguir unos leads nítidos y aplastantes o unos tonos rítmicos suaves y redondeados con sólo pulsar un interruptor.
