Libec RSP-850M Professional Aluminum Tripod System

This hardware combination matches the official Libec RSP-850M professional broadcast/cinema tripod system configuration.

By grouping the continuous-balance RHP85 fluid head with the heavy-duty aluminum T103B (or its updated T103RB iteration) legs and an adjustable mid-level infrastructure, Libec provides a production system built to eliminate movement flex for setups up to 25 kg (55 lbs).

System Component Breakdown

1. Libec RHP85 100mm Fluid Head

  • Continuous Perfect Counterbalance: Unlike step-based systems, the RHP85 uses a fully variable, micro-adjustable spring tension dial. You can tune it to the exact physical mass of camera builds weighing between 9 kg to 20 kg (20 lbs to 44 lbs). When dialed in, the camera floats weightlessly and holds its position at any tilt angle without snapping back.

  • 7-Step Fluid Pan/Tilt Drag: Features real mechanical drag switches (7 settings plus a zero-drag bypass) to deliver predictable resistance during creeping close-ups or sudden whip-pans.

  • Illuminated Leveling: Includes an integrated LED bubble level for easy camera leveling in dark studios or evening event locations.

2. Libec T103B Heavy-Duty 2-Stage Aluminum Legs

  • Zero-Flex Dual-Pipe Architecture: The upper stages utilize thick-walled, high-tensile aluminum dual pipes. Combined with die-cast aluminum leg crowns, it yields exceptional torsional rigidity to absorb high panning torques and prevent image shifting.

  • High-Torque Rotary Locks: Oversized screw knobs provide massive holding power, ensuring the legs will not slip or settle under heavy camera and prompter payloads over long shooting hours.

3. Libec BR-6B Mid-Spreader & FP-6B Large Rubber Feet

  • Variable Terrain Stabilization: The BR-6B mid-level telescopic spreader keeps the leg footprint perfectly locked. Because it operates off the floor, it lets you stabilize the tripod on uneven ground, stadium stairs, or crowded locations.

  • Traction & Protection: The FP-6B heavy-duty snap-on rubber feet fit firmly over the tripod's metal spikes, offering grip on slick surfaces like linoleum or concrete while protecting delicate studio floors.

4. Libec RC-80 All-Round Rolling Transport Case

  • Transit Protection: A rugged, wheeled transit case featuring hard shell armor inserts wrapped in heavy-duty padding to shield your system head and legs from impacts during shipping or travel.

Broke after less than 2 months
Initially worked great but now the taking power from the coil doesn’t break the contact and I have to tap it with a screwdriver to get it to disengage
