The Agile Electric Cargo Bike Built for Canadian Families — 2026 Riese & Müller Load5 60

The 2026 Riese & Müller Load5 60 is the more compact sibling in the fifth-generation Load family, and for many Canadian riders it is the better fit. With a 60 cm front cargo bed, full active suspension throughout, and the same Bosch Cargo Line motor that powers its larger counterpart, it delivers everything that makes the Load platform exceptional in a slightly shorter, more nimble package that handles tighter urban streets, bike lanes, and neighbourhood paths with exceptional ease. If your family has up to two young children and you want a cargo bike that feels genuinely agile rather than just manageable, the Load5 60 is where that balance is found. Available through Scooteretti, a certified Riese & Müller authorized dealer based in Ottawa, with free shipping to every province across Canada.

The Same Full Suspension Platform, in a More Manoeuvrable Size

Everything that defines the Load5 75 mechanically is present on the Load5 60. Riese & Müller's Control Technology provides full active suspension at three points simultaneously: the SR Suntour Mobie 34 CGO Boost front fork with 80 mm of travel, the X-Fusion Glyde rear shock on the swing arm, and the co-sprung luggage carrier that moves in sync with the rear suspension so cargo and passengers absorb road imperfections the same way the wheels do. The frame is built from aluminium with 25 percent recycled content and carries a gross vehicle weight rating of 200 kg. The adjustable stem accommodates riders from 1.50 m to 2.00 m, making it a genuinely shared-use bike for households where multiple adults ride.

Standard Dropper Seatpost for 2026

New for the 2026 model year, the dropper seatpost is standard on every Load5 60 configuration. Lower the saddle at stops for full ground contact and stability when the cargo box is loaded, then ride at full leg extension on the open road. It is a practical upgrade that makes a noticeable difference every time you stop at a light or pull up at a school.

Bosch Cargo Line Power and Up to 1,600 Wh of Range

The Load5 60 is powered by the Bosch Cargo Line Smart System motor, delivering up to 100 Nm of torque and 600 percent pedal assistance in Cargo mode. The motor starts smoothly under load and adjusts responsively to your cadence, whether you are pulling away from a stop sign on a hill or settling into a long flat commute. The standard configuration ships with a Bosch PowerPack Frame 725 Wh battery, upgradeable to 800 Wh, and the optional DualBattery system brings total capacity to 1,600 Wh for riders who need extended range, particularly relevant for longer Canadian commutes and cold-weather riding where battery efficiency naturally decreases.

Up to Two Children and a 60 cm Cargo Bed

The Load5 60 cargo box comfortably accommodates up to two children up to age seven with appropriate child seats and five-point safety harnesses. It handles a full week of groceries, sports equipment, and daily cargo with equal ease. For families who do not need the three-child capacity of the Load5 75, the Load5 60 offers a slightly shorter overall length of 248 cm that is noticeably easier to navigate in tighter urban environments while retaining the same fundamental load-carrying capability.

Modular Accessory System

The Load5 60 shares the same accessory ecosystem as the Load5 75. Child seats, weather canopy with UV-protective tinted TPU film panels, dog kit, cargo sidewalls, and cargo covers are all available and interchangeable. The modular design allows fast reconfiguration between family and cargo use without tools.

Three Drivetrain Options to Match Your Riding Style

Touring:

The Shimano CUES 11-speed derailleur with steel chain is the most familiar setup for riders moving from conventional bikes, with a wide gear range and straightforward servicing.

Vario:

The Enviolo continuously variable hub gear paired with a Gates Carbon Belt Drive offers stepless, twist-grip shifting and near-zero chain maintenance. Scooteretti's most recommended configuration for year-round Canadian commuters, particularly in winter when chain care becomes a genuine burden.

Rohloff:

The Rohloff E-14 electronically controlled 14-speed hub with Gates Carbon Belt Drive is the most durable and long-service drivetrain available on the Load5 60. Built to cover tens of thousands of kilometres with minimal maintenance in all weather conditions.

Safety on Every Stop

The Load5 60 is available with two advanced braking options. The optional Bosch eBike ABS prevents front wheel lockup under hard braking using wheel speed sensors, reducing the risk of tipping even on wet or loose surfaces. The optional Magura Integrated Braking System automatically distributes braking force across both wheels when the rear lever is engaged, reducing stopping distances by up to 40 percent without any electronics or power source. Supernova integrated lighting runs off the main battery with main and dipped beam front and an integrated brake light at the rear.

Uses same battery as the rest of my equipment
Size: 8" Edger New
Since I already have and like the Greenworks mower, string trimmer and blower it only made sense to get the edger. Even better that I didn’t need to buy more batteries. I tried another name brand electric edger and returned it for not holding a charge. This one works great! There’s charge left in the battery after everything has been edged. I was concerned how easy it would be to control but fell in love with it first time I used it. To use just pop the battery in, flip the thumb lever, squeeze and edge. Not as noisy as gas powered equipment and no cords to pull. Feels sturdy in my hands and a good weight that’s enough to not pop up if it hits something but not too much to be heavy to carry back to the shed.

First use was great!
I've used it just the one time today. I had previously "edged" with a string weedwhacker, so while the grass was cut back some, there wasn't a trench dug out. I did a gentle push and pull, taking on about 18" at a time to get a new trench dug next to the sidewalk edge. It did a great job! The entire unit was much heavier and sturdy looking than I was afraid it would be for the price, so pleasantly surprised. Assembly wasn't complicated, but it did take two of us to hold it steady because getting the screws to seat in the square hole and not have the cord in the way was a bit tricky. I'm a 70+ lady, not large and not athletic, but I was able to handle this edger with ease. Now, to see how long it lasts!

Great Yard Helper!
So easy to use and affordable! This edger is a great time saver, easy to operate, and relatively easy to adjust although you may need a pliers or screwdriver to help with the adjustment levels, but its not difficult. I would have given this 5 stars but just one thing that is a sticking point for me is I wish this had its own stand or hanger because of its odd shape, it doesn't necessarily balance upright too well. It’s long and the guide wheel in the front sticks out. So, it is always awkward to get it tidy in the garage when not in use. Now maybe this is what it's like for landscapers…I’m not a professional. Just a homeowner doing my own upkeep. With what this costs, I’ll figure it out, and is worth the money.
