The Human CDK5 (Cyclin Dependent Kinase 5) ELISA immunoassay kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human CDK5. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human CDK5 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human CDK5, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human CDK5. You can calculate the concentration of Human CDK5 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

I was expecting an unflavored fiber powder. However, expect a sour/tart taste. This means you can't add it to tea or coffee. I don't think it is appropriate to say that it is "unflavored" as I've had psyllium husk from other vendors that are truly "unflavored" (i.e. no citric acid). Dextrin (another fiber source) is also unflavored. But this Metamucil is tart (like sucking a lime) and can only be added to tart juices like orange juice or lemonade.

I was worried about the taste based on some of the reviews. I tried it in my coffee, and I'm glad I did it that way. I keep coffee in the fridge, so that is what I mixed with one tablespoon of this. I use half and half and no sugar. I tasted it. It tastes like burnt coffee. Not a bad thing...thats just what the taste it added. I decided to see what would happen if I added a splash of a flavored creamer. The taste went away instantly. Hope this helps someone!

Taste: While the product doesn’t taste bad, preparing it as directed results in a very mild orange flavor. -as a drink I would prefer more flavor. Texture: The psyllium husk absorbs water extremely quickly—even in cold or room-temp water—which is just the nature of the ingredient itself. Because it starts to gel so fast, you have to chug it, and even then it can be difficult to get down. (I personally gag at it, but I have sensory issues) If the gel like texture is an issue for you, I found it more palatable mixed into food with water on the side. Texture aside, the product itself is highly effective. Mixability: It doesn’t always mix smoothly and tends to clump. Again nature of the ingredient not the brand. The powder is very fine and non-gritty perfect for other mixings. Side effects: I had uncomfortable bloating the first time (2 scoops/ full glass), I recommend starting with (1 scoop or less/full glass) Dont rush it. Increase it from there as you grow tolerance. You may feel very full. - it helped me eat less!
