Jefferson and the Virginians: Democracy, Constitutions, and EmpireIn Jefferson and the Virginians, renowned scholar Peter S. Onuf examines the ways in which Thomas Jefferson and his fellow Virginians George Washington, James Madison, and Patrick Henry both conceptualized their home state from a political and cultural perspective, and understood its position in the new American union. The conversations Onuf reconstructs offer glimpses into the struggle to define Virginia and America within the context of the upheaval

In Jefferson and the Virginians, renowned scholar Peter S. Onuf examines the ways in which Thomas Jefferson and his fellow Virginians--George Washington, James Madison, and Patrick Henry--both conceptualized their home state from a political and cultural perspective, and understood its position in the new American union. The conversations Onuf reconstructs offer glimpses into the struggle to define Virginia--and America--within the context of the upheaval of the Revolutionary War. Onuf also demonstrates why Jefferson's identity as a Virginian obscures more than it illuminates about his ideology and career.

Onuf contends that Jefferson and his interlocutors sought to define Virginia's character as a self-constituted commonwealth and to determine the state's place in the American union during an era of constitutional change and political polarization. Thus, the outcome of the American Revolution led to ongoing controversies over the identity of Virginians and Americans as a "people" or "peoples"; over Virginia's boundaries and jurisdiction within the union; and over the system of government in Virginia and for the states collectively. Each debate required a balanced consideration of corporate identity and collective interests, which inevitably raised broader questions about the character of the Articles of Confederation and the newly formed federal union. Onuf's well-researched study reveals how this indeterminacy demanded definition and, likewise, how the need for definition prompted further controversy.--Jon Kukla, author of Mr. Jefferson's Women

Excellent piece
Color: Light Grey, Size: Queen, Color: Light Grey, Size: Queen
Initially I was worried about the cheap feeling material but when I finally decided to take it out of the bag I was impressed by the “fullness” Of the sheet as it was folded up. Not necessarily sharp and crisp lines but when I was unfolding the sections I was really impressed by the sizing or fit with its deep pockets that cover over my mattress and 5” foundation, the design, and the slightly cool material, despite the wrinkles. This particular light gray of this fabric was one I was looking for for a very long time in mattress protectors, bedsheets, and even iPad cases. I had not found any that were to my liking but this one here by Utopia Bedding is exactly what I was looking for. It definitely sets the tone and mood of my bed and perhaps the overall feel of my bedroom too so it will make it all that much more relaxed and comfortable. It doesn’t seem to fit tightly but it’s long enough to stay in one place.

Soft and Comfy
Color: White, Size: Queen (Pack of 1)
The padding adds just the right amount of softness without making the bed feel too plush or uncomfortable. It fits securely on the mattress and doesn’t slide around during the night, which is something I’ve struggled with using other mattress padsI also appreciate how quiet it is — there’s no crinkling or bunching when moving around. After several washes, it has held up well without shrinking or losing its shape. Overall, this mattress pad is a great combination of comfort, protection, and durability. It’s an affordable upgrade that made my mattress feel fresher and more supportive. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to improve their sleeping experience.

Quality drastically lowered over time
Bought a pack of these about 2 years, excellent quality for the price. Thick, soft, would highly recommend. Bought more of these recently, the quality has gone way down hill. It's about half the thickness that it used to be, and feels way cheaper.
