The Karcepts K-Series Idle Air Control Valve Block-Off Plate provides a solution to eliminate the IACV on 2002-2006 Acura RSX (DC5) and 2002-2005 Honda Civic Si (EP3) throttle bodies. This plate also fits the many aftermarket throttle bodies designed for those vehicles' engines (K20A, K20A2, K20A3, K20Z1). Idle air control valve removal may help with radiator and radiator fan interference issues, along with cleaning up the engine bay. This block-off plate may also be useful with intake manifolds that do not have idle air porting provisions (such as RRC and RSP manifolds). The only requirement for utilizing the Karcepts K-Series Idle Air Control Valve Block-Off Plate is Hondata K-Pro (or an equivalent programmable ECU) to disable stock function of the IACV.
To install:
1. Remove the idle air control valve from the throttle body.
2. Bolt on the Karcepts K-Series Idle Air Control Valve Block-Off Plate with the supplied hardware (and retain the IACV rubber gasket).
3. Disable the IACV on Hondata K-Pro (or an equivalent programmable ECU).
4. (THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP) Locate the throttle stop on the K-Series throttle body to set the idle mechanically by re-adjusting the position of the stop. An OE K-Series throttle body will require a 7mm wrench (to loosen the jam nut) and a 2.5mm allen key (to adjust the throttle stop set screw). Once engine idle is set as desired, lock the jam nut to secure the new stop position.
