This book tells the story of Ray Charles's musical upbringing in Florida, where he wrote his first songs and made his first recordings. It highlights the careers of Pensacola singers James and Bobby Purify and their producer, Papa Don Schroeder. Florida Soul reveals how Hank Ballard created his international hit song "The Twist" after seeing the dance in Tampa and profiles Gainesville singer Linda Lyndell ("What a Man"). Miami's Overtown and Liberty City neighborhoods produced Sam Moore of the legendary duo Sam and Dave, Willie Clarke and Johnny Pearsall of Deep City Records, and singer Helene Smith. Miami was also the longtime headquarters of Henry Stone, whose influential company T.K. Productions put out hits by Timmy Thomas, Latimore, Betty Wright, and KC and the Sunshine Band. Stone's artists and distribution deals influenced charts and radio airplay across the world. Born in the era of segregation with origins in gospel, rhythm and blues, and jazz and reaching maturity during the civil rights movement, soul music is still enjoyed today, still very much a part of our collective culture. Seam shows right in the center of your brea$t!

Had to return even though I loved the fit and feel of the bra. The seam that goes across the middle and your nippies shows through on every type of shirt I wear. And one side has a little extra room which made it ripple vertically I guess because the material/lace is so thin. Real bummer. Would be nice if B cup was available. C was just a little large.

This one is a keeper…

Bra shopping is truly one of my least favorite things to do, and it is always so frustrating to me. Online bra shopping tends to be even worse, so I had little hope for this bra but took a chance anyway. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it! A true test for me is whether or not I notice I’m wearing it. I’ve worn it off and on for several days and I totally forget about it. Having nurses two babies and approaching my 40s, my girls need a lot of support and this bra delivered. I thankfully discovered years ago that if you have deflated mom boobs, an unlined cup is the best way to take what you have and give it shape. This one does just that.
I have very mixed feelings on the lace though. On the one hand, it is sexy and feminine and I don’t find that in bras very much anymore (at least not ones that provide the kind of lift and support that I require). However, the lace is very noticeable through a shirt. I really can only wear this bra with a thick top or sweater. Otherwise, it’s just too noticeable and I’m not comfortable with that. Wearing a cami underneath a top helps slightly though.
Overall, I’m glad I have this bra and I’ll be ordering another color. It feels well made, the material is nice, and it gives my bust a shapely (and youthful 😭) appearance. I wore it all day in 90+ heat at Magic Kingdom and it didn’t bother me at all, so it definitely qualifies as lightweight and comfortable in my book. I took a stab at a size and the 36D feels right. I *maybe* could have gotten a 34 but the 36 doesn’t feel loose on the tightest loops. On occasion, depending on the brand, I can be either a D or DD.
I think this is worth trying and looks more expensive than it really is!

Gorgeous Bra, But My Chest Declined the Opportunity

This bra is genuinely beautiful and very well made. The fabric, stitching, and overall construction felt much more expensive than I expected. Unfortunately, my body once again reminded me that I am apparently not built according to standard human engineering specs.
Every few years I convince myself, “Surely this time I am a normal-sized woman who can wear regular bras.” Then I order one designed for actual flesh-bearing individuals and reality humbles me immediately.
The cups stood there optimistically waiting to be filled while my chest contributed little to the project. The straps also kept sliding off my narrow shoulders like they were trying to escape the situation entirely.
None of this is the bra’s fault. The fabric is soft, silky, and looks like money. It's just as pretty as the photos. The straps appear as though they could support a lot for a long time. The bra did its job. My body simply refused to participate. If you have average proportions and shoulders that can support standard straps, this is probably a fantastic purchase. I, however, must return to my specialized tiny-person undergarments and accept my fate.

I really like this bra, but...
The bra fir great and I wish I could keep it. The big downfall is the lace and the middle seam. Both show thruogh any shirt material so you can't ear it under anything without the bra showing through as bumpy. I'm returing it for that reason along.
