It consists of two 5 week units; Unit 1 “Foundations of Biology and Genetics” and Unit 2 “Biology and Ecology.” This curriculum aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of biological principles, genetic mechanisms, ecological interactions, and evolutionary biology through structured learning and diverse activities.
Unit 1: Foundations of Biology and Genetics (Weeks 1-5)
- Week 1: Students gain foundational knowledge of carbon compounds, water properties, biological molecules, and eukaryotic cell structures, focusing on the chemistry of life and cell biology.
- Week 2: The course deepens students’ understanding of cellular transport mechanisms, explores plant cellular functions, and delves into ATP production and photosynthesis.
