Double vinyl LP pressing. Archive release of previously unissued 1972 premier performance. Ten Years Alive On The Infinite Plain is the quintessential work of artist/filmmaker/composer Tony Conrad. Comprised of both film installation and minimalist score for amplified strings, Ten Years leaps across genre and medium to connect his revolutionary structural filmmaking with the experiments in long-duration sound that Conrad had begun in the 1960s as part of the Theatre of Eternal Music. For it's 1972 premiere at New York's The Kitchen, Ten Years included Conrad on violin as well as Rhys Chatham and Laurie Spiegel performing on instruments of the composer's own making. Chatham played the Long String Drone - a 6-foot long strip of wood with bass strings, electric pickup, tuning keys, tape, rubber band and metal hardware - while Spiegel carried out an arrhythmic bass pulse throughout. Superior Viaduct is honored to present this previously unreleased recording of Ten Years Alive On The Infinite Plain's breathtaking premier performance. As Chatham recounts in the liner notes, "When I first listened to this recording after not hearing it for over 40 years, it transported me back to the early Kitchen and the heyday of early minimalism, played outside the Dream Syndicate."

opens bottles!

This bottle opener is very cool. It’s like a screwdriver, but it’s really a bottle opener! It has a grip to prevent your hand from flying off while opening a bottle. I also carry a bottle opener on my keychain and am always especially proud when someone needs a bottle opener and I have on right there on my keychain.

Love this opener. Matches with all the other screwdrivers in my tool box and have it ready to whip open a beer whenever needed. Slips into the pocket to carry with you as well. Solid tool and I gave a couple buddies one as a gift. These will see many years of beer opening super fast.

The right tool for the job.

This is the tool you want. It is exceptionally functional, well made (made in the USA, if that matters to you), and beautiful in the way that quality tools are. The thing that really sets this tool apart is that it correctly balances form vs. function: a heavy duty build (as is the point when buying a bottle opener built by a tool company) without its use as a bottle opener (as is the point when buying ANY bottle opener) being negatively impacted by said build. I also bought the Craftsman bottle cap wrench, which, in my opinion, is hugely successful as feeling like a heavy duty tool and something of a failure as a bottle opener. It's so large and heavy, it has equal mass to the bottle you're opening. Imagine your buddy who has had one too many wielding a 12 oz. steel wrench over your tile floor, countertop, toes, etc. and you'll get the idea.
Lastly, the engraving and materials on this Klein tool are so attractive I had to build it a custom wall mount instead of hiding it away in a drawer or tool chest. I will be buying a second for the office.
