Bill's world soon came apart when his wife just couldn't adapt to ranch life in the west. With their three children in tow, she caught a train and returned to the life she had once cherished. Lonesome once again and facing the loss of his ranch, Bill's life took yet another turn as he found longed-for companionship with a Mexican woman with two kids of her own. This relationship lead to a deadly encounter with one of her sons. What happened next was a test of endurance and fortitude as Bill faced the prospect of losing his ranch and once again becoming a lonely man.
