Automatic Filter Detection and Communication

To enable the filter and coffee machine to communicate, JURA uses modern RFID technology. Any machine fitted with the intelligent water system (I.W.S.) recognizes when a filter is inserted, automatically switches to filter mode and starts the rinsing process. When the filter capacity is nearly used up the machine prompts the user to change the filter. If the filter is not changed, the machine activates descaling mode. After a certain amount of use, the user is prompted to descale the machine.

Standard tap water contains all varieties of impurities, among them are calcium and magnesium. Unless you are using softened, filtered water (or a special filter cartridge such as Clearyl), your Super Automatic espresso machine's boiler is lined with scale. The heating element draws the minerals out of the water and bakes them onto itself, literally forming rock inside your machine. This creates for you all sorts of problems such as reduced water flow and shortened life of the unit. Regular replacement of the Clearyl Smart filter ensures the removal of chlorine, lead, aluminum, and copper for a better tasting coffee. A special organic additive also removes almost all calcium carbonate, the villain behind scale build-up.

Compatibility

The Jura Clearyl Smart Water Filter Cartridge, item 72629, is only compatible with the Jura Z6 (Model 15093), Jura E6 (Model 15070), Models Jura E8 (Model 15097) - made after 2016, the Jura Z8 (Model 15192), Jura S8 (Models 15210 and 15212), Jura D6 (Model 15216) and Jura GIGA 6 (Model 15274). If you have a Jura Z6 or E8 made before 2016, this filter is not compatible.
