This compact, plug-and-play adapter bridges the gap between modern USB keyboards and mice and legacy PS/2-based computers. Designed for retro computing, industrial setups, or KVM environments where older hardware remains in use, this device lets you use current peripherals without sacrificing compatibility. It is powered through the PS/2 ports, so no extra power supply is required, delivering a tidy, energy-efficient solution for connecting USB input devices to systems that still rely on PS/2 interfaces.

  • Seamless USB-to-PS/2 bridging: Enable recent USB keyboards and mice to operate on legacy PS/2 systems, preserving your investment in modern peripherals while maintaining compatibility with older hardware, software, and operating environments.
  • Powered through PS/2 ports: No external power source is needed. The adapter draws power from the PS/2 connections, simplifying setup and reducing cable clutter in cramped control rooms, labs, or data centers.
  • Driver-free, plug-and-play operation: Designed for instant usability, this converter typically requires no driver installation, allowing immediate keyboard and mouse input on PS/2 machines with minimal setup.
  • Supports newer KVM peripherals on legacy PCs: The technology enables interconnection of contemporary KVM devices with legacy computer systems, expanding management options for mixed-era workstations and remote IT environments.
  • Compact, dependable design: Built to endure daily use in busy environments—from classrooms to server rooms—while providing reliable input device performance to support productivity and accuracy.

Technical Details of Black Box USB Keyboard to PS/2 Computer Converter

  • Interface: USB input from keyboard and mouse, PS/2 output to legacy computers; designed to bridge modern input devices with PS/2-based systems.
  • Power: Bus-powered via PS/2 ports; does not require a separate power adaptor or external supply.
  • Compatibility: Works with standard USB keyboards and mice on systems that rely on PS/2 connectors; supports common PS/2-based PC configurations and legacy hardware setups.
  • Peripherals: Intended for use with USB keyboards and mice, enabling access to legacy computers that may lack USB ports but rely on PS/2 interfaces for input devices.
  • KVM integration: Facilitates connection of newer KVM peripherals to older computers, enabling centralized control and easier management in mixed-era environments.
  • Installation environment: Suited for desktops, labs, classrooms, and industrial workstations where PS/2 is still in use and USB peripherals are preferred for day-to-day tasks.

How to install Black Box USB Keyboard to PS/2 Computer Converter

  • Power down the legacy computer (recommended for initial setup) and locate the PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse ports on the back or side of the system.
  • Connect the PS/2 side of the converter to the corresponding PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse ports on the PC. Ensure a firm, secure connection for reliable input signal transmission.
  • Plug your USB keyboard and USB mouse into the USB input ports on the converter. Use the inputs specified by the adapter’s design to ensure proper data flow.
  • Power on the computer. The converter should draw power through the PS/2 ports and establish communication between the USB peripherals and the PS/2 interfaces.
  • Test basic keyboard and mouse functions. If input is not detected, reseat connectors, verify port alignment (keyboard vs. mouse), and confirm compatibility with the specific USB device models you are using.
  • For KVM setups, connect the converter to the KVM switch as per the switch’s instructions, ensuring the PS/2 and USB cabling paths are secure and organized to avoid tangling or disconnections during use.

Great read for students
Format: Paperback
Studying cybersecurity, I thought "Black Hat Python, 2nd Edition" by Justin Seitz and Tim Arnold was quite helpful. This book makes difficult ideas far simpler by combining theory with practical examples. The revised material maintains it current given the cybersecurity issues of today. The practical uses it goes over, such as scraping and sniffing, which are essential skills for anyone working in the field. Whether you're brand-new or seasoned, the simple explanations make it easy to follow. Any student studying cybersecurity should not miss this book since it provides the ideal combination of knowledge and useful abilities through guided projects.

The book is simply perfect. Very good book. Problem with shipping.
Format: Paperback
The book is simply perfect. Good book and good practical contents, complex, but direct at the same time with what it has to say. Very useful if you want to learn Python but from the point of view of a Hacker or Pentester. There was a problem with the shipping, it was solved, but I received the book days later and for a few hours the book was lost, and the shipping agency couldn't track it, and they didn't know where it was. Luckily in the end it was fixed and I received it a few days later.

Tough read for a newbie
Format: Paperback
To start off, I am not the world’s best at writing code. I do have a low level understanding of the concepts and can figure out (with a longer amount of time) how to get some of the code functional. With this in mind, this book (if your a beginner or struggle with Python) is going to be a tough read and hard to practice. Its pseudocode is solid and makes the coding easier but you need to beware of pythons syntax differences between the different versions when you are using this. (This is something I struggle with). I am beyond happy with this book, albeit there are typos and errors inside it but I think it’s solid for practice in this field. Coming from a nontechnical profession, having the concepts explained and taken out from theory into working practice helps understand the practical side of doing something like this. Despite being a tough read, i have the frame of mind that ethical hacking and program development is not for a total newbie and some experience is needed for maximum efficiency. Hope this helps!
