Building upon the success of the original Elite-Series speakers, the Yorkville EF215P is a professional, easy to use, powered portable PA speaker well suited for musicians, singer/songwriters, mobile DJs, and other sound providers. The most bass-heavy speaker of the Elite series, this full-range cabinet is well suited as a FOH mains speaker, side-fill, or powerful DJ monitor. Please note, the EF215 does not offer a pole cup, so using a tripod speaker stand is not an option. However, the unit is relatively lightweight at 93 lb and works well in a ground-stack configuration. Additionally, there are 8 fly-points for flexibility in deployment. When used as a main speaker, a pair of EF215Ps are well equipped to cover an audience of up to 400.
A push button on the back of the speaker allows you to physically switch between four different EQ and tone modes: Club, Concert, Vocal, and User, which is setup up via the Bluetooth Yorkville app with a maximum of five different parametric equalization points with adjustable boost, cut and Q. A dedicated subwoofer button engages a high-pass filter, essentially removing frequencies below 100 Hz when using with a subwoofer. There are two indicators: a red clip LED and a yellow limit LED, which provide accurate and safe operation, even when driving hard.
The EF215P has a bypassable 2-channel mixer section, which includes a line input with a combo XLR-1/4" jack and a 3.5mm TRS input jack with level control and a microphone input with an XLR input and dedicated level control. If using an outboard mixer or linking several speakers (up to 16), use the main combo XLR-1/4" input. An XLR Thru output passes the signal from the main or mixer input to additional speakers. The 2400W (Peak) Class-D amplifier powers the dual 15" woofers and 3" compression driver, providing a full-range frequency response of 40 Hz to 16 kHz (±3 dB) and a max SPL output of 133 dB. The 60 x 40° coverage pattern provides even coverage of the audience area, while keeping the sound off the walls, ceiling, and floor. With the E215P trapezoidal enclosure, two EF215P speakers can be arrayed, which not only expands the horizontal coverage to 120°, but also would also increase the SPL by an additional 3 dB. The EF215P ships with a 25' IEC power cable.
- Power Switch & Mode LED: Turns the power On or Off and the illumination of the Mode LED indicates that unit is On
- Limit LED: Amber Limit LED indicates that the cabinet is operating at full power and the limiter is actively reducing the signal level
- Clip LED: Red Clip LED indicates that the signal level is excessive and is causing distortion. To reduce clipping, turn down the mixer levels
- Main In / Thru (Link) Connectors:
- Main In / Thru (Link) connectors allow powered cabinets to be driven from a single source
- Link up to 16 EF-Series powered cabinets
- Main In / Thru (Link) jacks are the correct input to use when using an external mixer
- For weaker signals, use the Line inputs of the first cabinet in the chain
- To ensure maximum hum rejection, use proper balanced cables
- Mixer On/Off:
- Turns the internal mixer ‘On’ or ‘Off’
- When Mic or Line inputs are used, set to the ‘On’ position
- If these inputs are not being used, the mixer should be turned ‘Off’
- Line Inputs:
- Line inputs allow line-level sources such as digital media players (laptops, tablets, or smartphones) and CD players to be connected
- If microphone is connected to Channel 1, it will have lower gain compared to Channel 2’s Mic input
- (Phantom power is NOT available on Channel 1)
- Line control adjusts the input volume level of devices plugged into the Line input
- Mic Inputs:
- Any standard microphone may be connected to the Mic input
- Phantom power is built in
- Mic control adjusts the volume level for the Mic input
- Master Control:
- Adjusts the level of the individual cabinet
- When Linking multiple cabinets, use this control to individually adjust the relative volumes of each cabinet
- Master control is designed to be used in the 12 o’clock (middle) position, only minor adjustments are recommended
- Mode Selector: Applies specific EQ and tone settings for the EF-Series powered cabinet
- Club: Boosted bass and enhanced highs make this mode ideal for music playback
- Concert: Allows instruments and vocals to be equally and naturally reproduced, which is best for live performance
- Vocal: Shaped response specifically for the human voice range ensures vocal intelligibility
- User: Flat by default, can be customized by a user through the Yorkville app with a maximum of five different parametric equalization points with adjustable boost, cut and Q
- Sub Switch:
- For operation with subwoofers, switch shuts off the low-frequency boost and filters out signals below 100 Hz
- Only affects signals to the internal amplifier and does not affect signals going out from the internal mixer or to signals passing through the Link connections
- Bluetooth Control:
- This control enables or disables the Bluetooth connection between a tablet or a smartphone using the Yorkville App
- Pressing this control button for more than 4 seconds resets the EF-Series powered cabinet to factory settings
