Nase: Icing sugar, lemon drops, clotted cream and jam notes provide a sweet and welcoming introduction to the latest Springbank 12 years old, with notes of dried fruits and demerara sugar developing over time.
Gaumen: Rich and syrupy on the palate, there are notes of tinned peaches, fruit syrup, honeycomb and milk chocolate.
Abgang: subtle peat smoke emerges in the finish, along with notes of heather honey and orange rind.
Springbank: Das Flaggschiff heißt schlicht Springbank– und wird wegen seines legendären Salztons gerne als „der Maritime“ bezeichnet. Leicht getorft und 2,5 fach destilliert, wurde der Single Malt schon 1828 zum ersten Mal abgefüllt und ist heute in den Altersstufen 10, 12, 15, 18 und 21 Jahre erhältlich. Dabei ist jede einzelne Abfüllung ein individuelles Geschmackserlebnis: Bei der für 10 Jahre gereiften Edition etwa spielt das Aroma mit dem Geschmack süßer Früchte und Honig und variiert dies unnachahmlich mit einem feinen Torfton.
