Styled in all black, the DM3 Dynamite In-Line Active DI from sE Electronics is an impressively compact, active DI with an ultra-Hi-Z input and massive headroom for connecting electric guitars, bass guitars, piezo pickup instruments, keyboards, synths, drum machines, laptops, and even vintage microphones while preserving the individual sonic character of each to get the best out of your instruments. Leveraging the DYNAMITE technology found in the DM1 and DM2 in-line preamps, the DM3 sports a stunning 10 Megohms of input impedance, and the ultracompact form factor ensures you can take the DI anywhere, as long as there is 48V of phantom power, commonly provided by mixers, PAs, and audio interfaces.
The DM3 comes with a switchable 15 or 30 dB input pad for high-output instruments, such as electric guitars and drum machines, and a handy three-position ground-lift switch, which can eliminate unwanted buzzing and humming in not only the low-frequencies, but also the high-frequencies as well. With a gold-plated XLR output, a locking 1/4" input, which helps avoid accidental disconnects, and a durable all-metal housing, the DM3 is ready for the rigors of the road or the dynamic needs of the studio.
The DM3 requires +48V phantom power for operation.
The DM3 features a dedicated three-position ground-lift switch. In the Off position, the ground lift is deactivated. If you are experiencing unwanted hum or buzz, a ground loop might be causing this. Turning the switch to the On position will break any such loops, greatly reducing noise. The switch's third position engages the new On+ circuitry. This innovative electronic design can help to reduce unwanted noise, not only in the low-frequency, but also in the in the high-frequency range. This is a great option if you are still experiencing a hissing sound or radio-frequency interference with the ground lift engaged.
