ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

The Japanese Grass--winner of the Japan Media Arts Grand Prize.

The Battle of Okinawa was one of the most tragic episodes of World War II. Susumu Higa gives us his merciless view of what both Americans and Japanese did.

If war is never a perfect struggle between good and evil, the Battle of Okinawa was a sad example of this. Between April and June 1945, nearly 150,000 people (one-third of the total population) were killed during the American invasion. The Japanese army also committed atrocious crimes against the civilian population, such as encouraging mass suicides. The survival of the Japanese Empire was at stake, so Okinawa and the rest of the Ryukyu Islands (with their own language and culture) were sacrificed.

In Okinawa, the Wind Speaks, Susumu Higa realistically weaves together several parallel stories to present us with a harsh reality, in which he takes no sides and seeks no political interpretations. With this work, Sensei Higa established himself as the great chronicler of the island of Okinawa, a fascinating territory whose history had never been properly told: his is the chilling testimony of the tragedies suffered by hundreds of thousands of civilians, abandoned to their fate under a rain of bombs, the hypocrisy of silence, and rage in the face of abuses of all kinds.

Elegant Gold Forks with Nice Sturdy Feel
Color: Gold, Color: Gold
These gold plastic forks look very elegant and work nicely for parties, baby showers, weddings, and special events. The gold finish gives a premium appearance and helps elevate table setup without needing real metal cutlery. They feel sturdy for most foods and do not bend easily during normal use. The size is comfortable to hold, and the smooth finish gives them a clean and polished look. The pack size is generous, making it convenient for larger gatherings or event setups. They are lightweight, easy to use, and cleanup is simple since they are disposable. Overall, these are a great choice for stylish disposable tableware when you want something that looks more upscale than standard plastic forks.
