Growing Double Madness Series Petunia Garden Seeds

  • Taxonomy: Petunia x hybrida
  • Other Names: Double Floribunda
  • Seed Type: Annual (Perennial in zones 10 – 11)
  • Sow Indoors or Outdoors: For earliest blooming, start Double Madness Series petunia seeds indoors 10 – 12 weeks before the final frost and transplant once there are two sets of true leaves. Double Madness seeds will germinate within 14 days with full lighting. If transplanting outside, harden off seedlings into a partially shaded spot in the garden, or an equally moderate place indoors.
  • Days to Maturity: 98 – 105 days
  • Hardiness Zone: 6 – 11
  • Planting Depth: Plant 2 – 3 seeds ¼” deep
  • Plant Spacing: 8 – 10”
  • Growth Habit: 10 – 15” tall mounded upright with a 10 – 12” spread and fully-double 3” wide papier-mâché blooms
  • Soil Preference: Average, medium moist, well-drained
  • Light Preference: Full sun – Partial shade
  • Diseases/Pests/Troubleshooting: Avoid overhead watering to minimize wetting foliage as Double Madness petunia seeds are susceptible to fungal and leaf diseases and gray mold if not properly ventilated. Plants are known to be susceptible to blight and tobacco mosaic virus, since Petunia x hybrida is closely related to the tobacco plant. Double Madness petunias will benefit from shade and deadheading as they begin to decline in the long summer months. Petunias have no serious pests, but monitor regularly for aphids, flea beetles, slugs and snails.

Second only to impatiens in annual bedding plant sales, the petunia has been a popular plant for many years due in large part to its ease of culture and non-stop flowering from spring to frost. Petunia is a genus of 20 species native to South America and is loosely derived from an old Guarani word meaning “tobacco” since the two plants are both in the nightshade family.

One Tough Ball!
Color: Blue
Our dogs are loving this ball. Our 1 yr old hound is a world-class chewer and he can't make a dent in this ball. The interactive buzzing and bouncing keeps them entertained for long durations. It's a mite noisy but the barking from the 1 yr old is much louder, lol. Even turned off, they like playing with it and chewing on it. Based on the tough construction, we think it will last much longer than traditional chew balls.

Great toy to relieve stress in a dog.
Color: Orange
He actually cares FOR this toy. I think he thinks its alive. I put it in his Kong weeble wobble thing because that thing actually is indestructible, thinking he'd be able to play with it but not be able to tear it up and he started yelping like he was hurt. I do expect him at some point to tear this thing up if he gets bored with it. He's a shredder and the material looks shred-able. But right now he loves this thing. First toy he takes to bed with him. ;)

My puppy’s favorite
Color: Orange
Great quality and built to last. My dog really enjoys playing with it and stays entertained for quite a while. The material is strong yet safe, and the included drawstring bag is a convenient extra for easy storage. Is colorful and my become my puppy’s favorite.

If you love your dog…don’t buy this.
Color: Orange
We have a nonaggressive English cocker. She opened the ball every time she played with it. And yes, we are closing it as hard as we can. I do not recommend this toy for any dog! This is a dangerous toy for a dog that is not supervised.
