Intelligent Adaptive Charging for Marine and Off-Grid Systems

The Victron 24V 16A Phoenix Smart IP43 24/16(1+1) Battery Charger offers professional-level battery maintenance for demanding marine, automotive, and off-grid applications. Designed to handle the rigours of mobile power systems, this intelligent Victron smart charger ensures your batteries receive the precise energy they need to maximise lifespan and performance. With a robust 24V architecture and 16A output, it is an essential component for any reliable standalone power system.

Complete Control with Bluetooth Smart

Built-in Bluetooth connectivity transforms how you interact with your power system. Using the free VictronConnect app on your smartphone or tablet, you can monitor charge status, adjust settings, and update firmware completely wirelessly. For larger, integrated setups, the VE.Direct port provides seamless wired communication with Victron GX devices, enabling comprehensive system oversight.

Adaptive 5-Stage Battery Management

Standard chargers can easily overcharge batteries during extended periods of shore power or standby use. This unit employs a highly advanced, adaptive 5-stage algorithm: bulk, absorption, recondition, float, and storage. By automatically adjusting the charging process based on how the battery is being used, it delivers the exact right amount of charge.

If the battery experiences only shallow discharges, the absorption time is reduced to prevent overcharging. Conversely, after deep discharges, the system automatically extends the absorption phase to ensure a complete recharge.

Superior Battery Protection

Prolonged periods of inactivity often lead to early battery failure due to sulphation and corrosion. The innovative Storage Mode activates automatically after 24 hours without discharge. It reduces the float voltage to minimise gassing and positive plate corrosion, while initiating a weekly refresh cycle to prevent electrolyte stratification. Furthermore, the BatterySafe mode prevents damage from excessive gassing by automatically limiting the rate of voltage increase during rapid charging.

This dual-output model features a high-current primary connection for your main house battery bank, accompanied by a dedicated 4A trickle charge output that is ideal for maintaining an engine starter battery.

Built for Harsh Australian Environments

Operating in marine vessels or off-grid caravans means exposing equipment to challenging conditions. The IP43 protection rating ensures the internal electronic components are shielded against dust and water spray up to 60 degrees from vertical, provided the unit is mounted correctly. The natural convection cooling system utilises a large aluminium heatsink, eliminating the need for noisy cooling fans while maintaining exceptional efficiency and thermal stability even in warmer climates. Additionally, automatic voltage compensation offsets DC cable voltage drop by slightly increasing output voltage when DC current increases, ensuring optimal delivery to your battery bank.

Versatile Chemistry Support

Whether you are using traditional lead-acid, AGM, Gel, or advanced Lithium-ion (LiFePO4) battery banks, this charger adapts to your specific chemistry. It features a fully programmable charge algorithm and a dedicated lithium mode. Charger remote on/off control can even be managed directly by a Lithium-ion Battery Management System (BMS) via the integrated two-pole terminal.

Better than the basic power strip
Color: White, Size: 2.5', Style: 2.5 ft
I needed to get a basic five or six outlet power strip and instead ended up with this . Since the power strip that I was going to get was for basic protection, and would be plugged into a surge suppressor anyway, I really wasn't concerned about how much protection it offered. Just having the extra outlets for additional small-to-medium electrical devices was important. While looking and comparing this with basic power strips, I decided to check the manufacturer's site to see what specs they offered, since the ones here seemed to be a bit inadequate. Here's what I found: * 555 Joule energy rating provides maximum protection of all your sensitive electronic devices * 6 Surge-protected outlets supply 2-line AC protection * 2.5-foot power cord delivers optimal, safe AC power through a 14-gauge heavy-duty cord * Filters EMI/RFI noise up to 43 dB reduction * Maximum Spike Amperage of 36,000 Amps * Lifetime Product Warranty * $15,000 Connected Equipment Warranty The pros on this unit include the price, the basic surge protection, a short but sturdy power cord, and good basic construction. It has a power/reset switch that's recessed at the top of the unit near the power cord to prevent accidental shutting down. On the negative side, like so many of these units, the outlets are too close together to put more than a couple transformer-type devices like cell phone chargers and such. Just a couple of comments on the specifications listed above to those who may be interested: if you're going to plug high-end expensive electronics into one of these, don't do it. This is an adequate but very basic unit, and you want to consider getting a better grade surge suppressor for large screen televisions, good computer systems and such. No surge protector is 100% effective, but sure that the product is listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor, and that it meets the criteria for UL 1449, the absolute minimum performance standard for surge suppressors. I'm no electrical engineer or electronics technician, but if you're going to protect an expensive jogging machine, your new 52-inch television or Apple iMac 27-inch desktop system, you need better than an under $10 surge suppressor or power strip. A friend who I will refer to as the 'cranky electronic tech' told me to look it up on the 'Net, but make sure that whatever I got for protection of "really good stuff" needed to be minimally have a UL1449 3rd Edition certification and be rated at 1400 joules of surge protection or higher, and the rest would fall into place. The that I've used for years with my large electronics is rated at 3330 Joules, and meets those specs. If you plan to use a basic surge suppressor to charge cell phones and the like with their transformer plugs, units with right-angle outlets are a better, though more costly choice. My personal choice for mid-range protection combined with outstanding quality is the , a 5-star product that I own and have reviewed here. I run two notebook computers with this, along with a few chargers. There are others if you look. If all that you're looking for is a basic surge protector with a reasonable amount of surge suppression, then this one from Belkin is a decent choice, and certainly better than the basic power strip. I actually came back recently and bought a second one this year. But if your needs call for more, then the above listed alternates may be worth a look. 4/25/2012

It just works, and that is all that matters

It's a Belkin product. Do you really need to know anything more? My roommate bought a really crappy multi-outlet, it worked for the low wattage stuff, but for the higher wattage stuff the internal breaker kept popping. I bought this one, and it hasn't failed me yet.

price, features, 5 star
Color: White, Size: 4 ft (Pack of 1), Style: 4 ft
i cant comment on its performance as a surge protector but as a power strip its awesome. its redic cheap plenty of plug ins super thin, my other strip is twice as thick the on off switch is hidden which is great to not accidentally hit it, and with having kids around the cord length is perfect for my needs. its plug in behind a chair and a half and comes around the side and has plenty of play to move and plug and unplug the only con i can say about it which is not really a con because it wasnt designed for it. your only going to fit 1 big adapter on the end, or your going to have to give up plug ins to have more than that. but that clearly isnt the design of this strip. its about being thin, compact, hidden, and cheap. you want one that can do everything, your going to have to spend more

Everything You Expect, Nothing You Don't
Color: White, Size: 2.5', Style: 2.5 ft
The power strip got here quickly and works as advertised. I needed another strip because I had an extension cord setup for game systems that was NOT toddler-safe. Now I've got the plugs all tucked away at the back of the cabinet and away from little hands with no protruding prongs. Also, power strips are a good way to save on your electric bill. Things like game systems that really don't need power when you're not using them will draw what's sometimes called "vampire load." It can really add up on your electric bill if you have a lot of things plugged in that aren't in constant use. If you run them through a strip and switch the strip off when you're not using them, you can save a few bucks on electricity. If you're a dad like me, a lower electric bill makes you wanna hang it up on the fridge and tell everyone what a good job you did and how proud they should be of you. There are WAY more fun things to do with a few spare dollars than spend them on running power to appliances you're not even using.
