Being that the OEM front differential cover is soft steel and the lip is vulnerable to even slight impacts on rocks, installing the Carli Differential Guard will give your ring and pinion a thick steel shield should a direct impact be encountered. Any bump or nudge to your factory differential cover could push the cover into the gears or damage the seal causing a catastrophic lubricant loss. This guard is made of 3/16″ steel with a boxed structure for strength, and it mounts to the 7 lower factory holes with the included long length bolts.
