REVIEW: The Midwest Book Review
Part of the high-definition "Discoveries America National Parks" video essay series (each of which is available in both DVD and Blu-ray), Discoveries America National Parks: Washington D.C. is a beautiful tour of dozens of notable locations in America's capitol city.

Locations surveyed include the Theodore Roosevelt Island Memorial, the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site to the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, multiple departments of the Smithsonian Institution, and much more. Striking footage and educational narration make Discoveries... America National Parks: Washington D.C. especially appealing to public and school library DVD collections as well as armchair travelers! 50 min.

REVIEW: Booklist
The Washington, D.C., area draws millions of visitors annually. This well-organized program, from the ongoing Discoveries . . . America National Parks series, samples famous sites that are part of the National Park Service, with voice-over narration adding architectural information, historical facts, and other tidbits. The tour begins with the Capitol Building before moving on to the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial.

Tributes to WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans are also visited, as are the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Smithsonian Institution, and National Archives Building. The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in Arlington National Cemetery, in Virginia, is also featured. Although not intended as in-depth coverage, this is a good introduction to more than 65 attractions in and around the D.C. area. Another new series title is San Francisco Bay Area National Parks.

REVIEW: Video Librarian
The latest entry in filmmakers Jim and Kelly Watt’s high-def filmed Discoveries…America National Parks series explores the many monuments and other points-of-interest in Washington, D.C., beginning at the National Mall, which is surrounded by memorials and offers a grand view of the U.S. Capitol building. Viewers get close-up looks at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial (with its various fountains of increasingly complex design), and the relatively new Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, featuring a breathtaking marble sculpture of King emerging from a mountaintop.

The program also visits Ford’s Theatre, which has many displays concerning the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, and takes a peek at other Lincoln-esque exhibits. Memorial tributes to America’s various wars are also included here, as are glimpses inside the Clara Barton and Frederick Douglass National Historic Sites. And a fair amount of time is spent at the Smithsonian Institution, with its departments dedicated to the American Indian, space and science, Asian art, and so much else. A most welcome addition to travel collections, this is highly recommended. Aud: P. (T. Keogh)

Durable
My dogs love this one so much that we had to order another one so they wouldn't fight over it. They usually destroy toys in less than a day, but this one has lasted months now.

Determined Chewer Approved
Durable, but not impenetrable! My 68lb Lab got this in the mail today and happily chewed on it for around an hour non-stop. She is a strong and determined chewer, but not a super chewer. She destroys "moderate" rubber chew toys in a flash, but doesn't like hard nylon chews, so finding a rubber chew that can withstand her dilligent gnawing and suit her preferences is a rarity. This one absolutely is a win! The material is most similar to nylabone's Rhino rubber (compared to the Crazy Ball), and with time and continued chomps it will sustain damage, but for my dog (strong, not super chewer) it takes a lot of time to wear out and the early breaks are tiny like specks of sand. It's a safe choice for my dog, and she loves the texture of this toy!

The One
It’s actually indestructible 🤘🏻🫡 My dog has destroyed every “aggressive chewer” dog toy on this website. Finally found one that is true to its name. Will be ordering many more.

Watch your aggressive chewer
My pit bull chewed up one of these in short order. Probably OK for normal dogs but not aggressive chewers. UPDATE: He swallowed a piece and had to have surgery for obstruction…
