Black shell

The N4145E+ is dressed in a refined black exterior, which denotes the quality level you’d expect from a Thetford fridge. The flat frame and matte finish exudes style and will wildly enhance your kitchen interior. The door hinging is fixed on the left side, but this can easily be changed by using the included door swing kit.

Automatic power source selection

The three-way absorption fridge can be operated using three different power sources. These include: Vehicle battery, gas connection, or mains power. This clever product has the capacity to source and use different power sources, to cool its interior at a consistent temperature.

The fridge automatically selects the best power source available to it at one time, alternatively the user may select a power source manually, using the LED control panel.

If you find yourself without power, you can still use gas to keep your food cool!

Large capacity

The 136 L fridge holds copious food and drinks, for you to enjoy on your travels. Not only do you have more room, but a larger fridge means there’s less chance of you overfilling it, which can lead to circulation problems. Cool air can effectively move about the fridge, to keep your fridge cold!

The freezer compartment is built with a 23 L capacity, so you can stash all the ice cream you need.

What is an absorption fridge?

Absorption fridges, otherwise known as three-way fridges, can be run in three different ways: through a mains electric supply of 240v, using 12v electrics, or using LPG gas.

These are a great option if you have a standard electrics setup, or you need that extra bit of fridge capacity. They’re usually much larger than compressor fridges, and in this case, this is one of the largest we stock! Also, much larger than thermo-electric cool boxes.

An absorption fridge is often a much better option for larger travelling families, due to the vast capacity within the fridge. Gas fridges are often considered more efficient and longer lasting; when fridges are powered by gas, they tend to run much quieter as well.

If you choose to connect your Thetford fridge to a gas supply as well as 12 V and 230 V, then we strongly urge you to seek the assistance of a licensed gas engineer.

Installation

It’s recommended that a practised fitter installs the product for you, please only use this absorption refrigerator within a recreational vehicle.

Once the fridge is installed, you must leave a gap around it in-situ. Fridges require some air circulation; when this is compromised, it can lead to complications and the fridge may even malfunction.

The technical stuff

The Thetford N4145E+ has an energy consumption of 4 kWh/24h, while sat at an ambient temperature of 25 °C. While sat at the same temperature, the fridge had a gas energy consumption of 420g/24h.

Comes with inbuilt power source and failure indication, as well as automatic power selection. Can consistently control its temperature, whether the power is drawn from 12 V, gas, or 230 V. The fridge uses ammonia refrigerant, at an amount of 126 g. Total gross volume of 141 L, which has been calculated according to the IEC 62552-2020.

This refrigerator has a maximum 12 V input of 190 W and a max 230 V input of 220 W. The fridge has a gas powered maximum input of 22.9 g/h.
