MHP Dark Matter is a straightforward post-workout recovery drink. The idea is simple and backed by science—after a hard session, your muscles soak up carbs, aminos, and creatine way better. It's not a pumped-up pre-workout or just plain protein. This stuff helps refill what you burned and gets you recovering faster.

At the heart, you've got 6g of EAAs. These are essential amino acids your body can't make itself—they're the building blocks for muscle repair. Leucine stands out because it flips the switch on muscle building after training. A 6g dose hits hard post-workout, giving you quick-absorbing aminos especially when mixed with carbs and whey protein. From what we see in product info, it includes whey protein isolate and leucine peptides, bumping total protein to about 12g. That's helpful, but bigger guys might see it as a boost rather than a full meal replacement.

Next up is the 5g creatine blend. That's the standard daily amount most people shoot for with creatine monohydrate. It helps refill phosphocreatine, which is key for quick energy during intense bursts. In the gym, that means better power on repeats, holding strength through sets, and building more muscle over time. Dark Matter uses a mix of creatine types instead of just monohydrate. But since the exact breakdown isn't fully listed on a verified label, the s

Key Highlights

  • 6g Essential Amino Acids—this is the quick-hitting core that kicks off muscle repair after training. EAAs are key because your body can't make them, and the leucine in there helps flip muscles from breaking down to building up.
  • 5g Creatine Blend—5 grams is what most folks aim for daily to keep energy stores topped off. That helps with repeat power, hanging onto strength during sets, and better gains when you stick with it.
  • Carb-forward post-workout setup—looks like about 48g of fast carbs, which is a real dose for refilling energy. This gets your muscles looking fuller and pushes nutrients in after tough sessions.
  • Made for after workouts, not before—this focuses on recovery, not getting you hyped. It refills fuel, boosts cell energy, and delivers aminos when your muscles need them most.
  • EAA plus whey combo—free-form EAAs get in fast, while whey protein and leucine peptides keep the muscle-building going longer. That's better than just EAAs alone or waiting for a meal.
  • Carbs help shuttle nutrients—the carbs don't just add calories. They spike insulin, which pushes glucose, aminos, and creatine right into your worked muscles.
  • Easier than buying three separate supps—lots of people already mix carbs, creatine, and protein post-workout because it makes sense. Dark Matter puts it all in one drink to keep things simple.
  • Great for back-to-back training—if you're hitting it again soon, refilling energy matters more. This shines when sessions come quick and you can't afford to feel off.

Who Is This For?

  • Bodybuilders in big volume phases who leave the gym wiped after legs or back. Fast carbs, 6g EAAs, and 5g creatine blend hit recovery hard, refilling energy, starting repairs, and keeping sessions strong all week.
  • Strength folks who know consistent creatine matters and want more than protein post-workout. This gives 5g creatine plus carbs—key when heavy days lead right into another tough one soon.
  • Combat or field athletes with sprints, circuits, or multiple sessions weekly. The carb load helps for quick energy refill, getting you sharper for the next practice or fight.
  • Hardgainers who lag on eating after training. This bridges with carbs, aminos, and creatine so recovery kicks off fast, not just waiting on hunger.
  • Evening trainers skipping late stims. This is recovery fuel, not hype—better for winding down without messing up sleep.
  • Two-a-day or high-frequency lifters needing quick turnaround. Carbs plus creatine plus EAAs shorten the downtime between sessions.

How to Use

Grab Dark Matter right after your workout as your first recovery hit. Product info says a full serving is usually 2 scoops in about 10 ounces of water—add more if you like it thinner. Shake it well in a bottle for best mix. This fits after heavy lifting, conditioning, sprints, or anything that drops your energy low. Smaller folks or light days? Try half to see how the carbs feel. Bigger guys in bulking can add a meal or protein soon after for more fuel. No need to cycle, but stick with it for creatine to build up. Keep it sealed, cool, and dry to avoid clumping.

What to Expect

First 0-10 minutes: you're just getting fluids, carbs, and aminos in—no buzz like pre-workout. 10-30 minutes: it cuts that empty feeling, makes you feel like you're actually refueling instead of staying drained. Next 1-3 hours: carbs and aminos refill energy and start repairs. Days 1-7: you'll notice smoother recovery after sessions, especially if you were just using water or whey before. Weeks 2-4: creatine builds up, helping with repeat strength and power. Long-term, it's about training hard without getting buried in fatigue.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of product is MHP Dark Matter?

Dark Matter is a post-workout recovery formula, not a pre-workout stimulant. Its core structure is 6g essential amino acids, a 5g creatine blend, and a substantial carbohydrate system designed to replenish glycogen, support muscle protein synthesis, and improve recovery after hard training.

How much creatine is in Dark Matter?

Dark Matter provides 5g of a creatine blend per serving. Five grams is the standard daily target most athletes use to support muscle creatine saturation over time, which is why this formula is more than just a token recovery drink.

How much EAA does Dark Matter contain?

The verified formula includes 6g of essential amino acids per serving. That is a meaningful post-workout amount because EAAs provide the amino acids your body cannot produce on its own, with leucine-rich profiles being especially important for stimulating muscle protein synthesis.

Does Dark Matter contain carbohydrates?

Yes. Available product data strongly indicates a carbohydrate-heavy post-workout system at roughly 48g per serving, which is central to the product’s recovery strategy. Those carbs help replenish glycogen and enhance the transport of creatine and amino acids into muscle after training.

Is Dark Matter a good post-workout for muscle growth?

It can be, especially for hard-training athletes whose growth is limited by under-recovery rather than by lack of effort. The EAA and protein components support muscle protein synthesis, while the carbohydrate and creatine components help restore the training capacity needed to keep progressing.

Can I use Dark Matter instead of protein powder?

Not always. Dark Matter appears to provide about 12g total protein, which is useful post-workout but lower than what many larger athletes aim for in a full recovery feeding. For some users it works well on its own, but others will benefit from pairing it with extra protein or a whole-food meal.

When should I take Dark Matter?

Take it immediately after training, ideally within 30 minutes of finishing your last working set. That timing fits the formula’s purpose: quickly replacing used carbohydrate, delivering essential amino acids, and keeping daily creatine intake consistent.

Can I stack Dark Matter with a pre-workout?

Yes, and that is one of the most logical ways to use it. A pre-workout handles energy, focus, and training drive before the session, while Dark Matter handles the recovery side afterward with carbohydrates, creatine, and amino acids.

Is Dark Matter good for low-carb or ketogenic diets?

Usually no. The formula appears to rely heavily on post-workout carbohydrate, so it does not align well with strict ketogenic or carbohydrate-restricted approaches. It is much better suited to athletes who intentionally use carbs to support recovery and performance.

Is the label fully transparent?

Partially. The verified active headlines are 6g EAAs and 5g creatine blend, and outside research strongly supports the presence of a substantial carb matrix, but a complete official supplement facts panel with every precise sub-dose was not available from current source material.

Good set of clubs for beginners to find out if golf is their game! You'll need a putter, though.
Hand Orientation: Right, Color: Blue/Black
This nice inexpensive set is great for a beginner at golf, which is me--never played before. I don't evem know if I'm going to like playing, but at least I have a set of clubs so that I can give it a try...it's the exercise from walking the course that appeals to me. My son says he can teach me, even using mens clubs. I figure if I like the game, I can get a nicer set of ladies clubs and pass this set to my grandson. If I don't like the game, I can still pass the set along to my grandson! My son thought these clubs were decent weight and quality and well worth the price...the only thing missing was a putter, but we found a cheaper one to add to the set.

Good second-level pickleball paddles for a great price
Color: Black, Color: Black
I've been playing pickleball for a while now, though not ever well. I have progressed from wooden paddles and just trying things out to bundles of basic fiberglass paddles and balls to higher-end paddles that individually cost more than the "multi-paddle plus balls" bundles. I have kids and kids-in-law and grandkids, and not everyone has their own paddles. Thus, I purchased this set to get a couple more paddles. This Amazon Basics set of 2 paddles, four balls, and a carrying case is a starter set, maybe one step up from the basic wooden paddles that I started with. The paddles are nice, light-weight but sturdy, with a decent surface that should allow some level of control. The grips are nice, and there is some additional grip tape you can use to retape a handle that wears out. The balls are standard balls, and should get you started. The case is similar to cases I've purchased before with other sets. Unfortunately, the makers skimped on the zipper. It only has one (another case from a similar set had two zippers), and after just a few uses, the zipper completely fell off (see photo). This makes the case completely useless, and definitely drops my rating. But, given the price, the quality of the paddles, and the four balls, this is still a great starter set, even without a cheap carrying case. I'm happy to have the extra balls and paddles.

Soooo cute & girly!
Color: Pastel Zigzag, Color: Pastel Zigzag
This cute coral and white pickleball paddle set is perfect for beginners or casual games. The paddles feel sturdy and well made, and the color combo is really fun and stylish. I also love that it comes with two different types of balls, so you’re ready to play right away. The compact carrying bag is a great bonus too — it keeps everything organized and is easy to bring to the court.
