After fighting Thor in Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War, Banner realizes that the Hulk is not a problem to solve, but the solution. Over the next five years, Banner undergoes gamma experimentation to balance both sides. He is now permanently in the Hulk’s body, but with Banner’s mind. When the Avengers travel through time to obtain the Infinity Stones, Hulk receives the Elder’s Time Stones in 2012.
In Avengers: Endgame, Hulk found a middle ground between the scientist and the beast.
