WHAT IS MONTANA GLITTER 400ML SPRAY AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

MONTANA GLITTER 400ML SPRAY IS A MEDIUM PRESSURE, HIGH-GRADE, NITRO-COMBI BASED PAINT, THAT IS TRANSLUCENT CONTAINING SILVER GLITTER PARTICLES. THESE PARTICLES GIVE A METALLIC EFFECT WHEN REFLECTING LIGHT THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO OBJECTS OR ARTWORKS OF ALMOST ANY KIND. AFTER BEING APPLIED A THIN SHINY LACQUER COAT WILL SHOW WITH A FINE DISTRIBUTION OF GLITTER PARTICLES.

WHAT SURFACES CAN APPLY MONTANA GLITTER 400ML TO?

Montana GLITTER 400ml can be applied to paper, cardboard, primed canvas, wood, glass, metal, ceramics, porcelain, stone, acrylic and other paintable materials.

HOW DO I GET THE BEST EFFECT WITH MY MONTANA GLITTER 400ML SPRAY?

Montana GLITTER 400ml spray works best if applied in thin, even coats to pre-primed surfaces. The more coats applied, the more intense the effect becomes. We recommend sealing your completely dry and cured GLITTER spray with Montana GLOSS VARNISH to enhance the metallic effect.

WHAT IS THE BEST COLORED SURFACE TO APPLY MONTANA GLITTER 400ML TO?

Although able to be applied to any base color, Montana GLITTER 400ml has the most impressive results if applied to dark colored bases. The choice of base color and its gloss level will significantly influence the final result.

HOW DO I START USING MY MONTANA GLITTER 400ML SPRAY CAN?

Shake vigorously for 2-3 minutes ensuring you can hear the mixing balls moving freely. Remove the plastic lid and ensure the cap is firmly on the can valve before triggering. Trigger away from substrate to test. If flowing freely you can start painting.

CAN I USE OTHER PAINTS OVER MY MONTANA GLITTER 400ML SPRAY ON?

Montana GLITTER 400ml spray can be over painted when completely dry and cured. It is compatible with Montana GOLD, Montana ACRYLIC markers and conventional acrylic paints. We recommend trialing on a non-visible area of your project to ensure compatibility.

HOW LONG DOES MONTANA GLITTER 400ML SPRAY TAKE TO DRY?

The drying time for Montana GLITTER 400ml spray varies depending on substrate, ambient temperature and levels of humidity. The Montana GLITTER 400ml spray can be dust dry in 10 minutes, touch dry in 60 minutes but needs 24 hours minimum curing time.

HOW FAR SHOULD I HOLD THE CAN AWAY FROM THE SUBSTRATE WHILE PAINTING?

Optimum distance from substrate is normally between 15 and 25cm depending on your task. Thin, even layers are optimal.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER POINTS TO CONSIDER?

Due to the weight of the pigments, it is important to shake the can well for 2-3 minutes before use and re-shake after each pause in use. This will always ensure the correct mix of pigment to paint base, as the pigments will settle at the bottom of the can even if not used for a short period of time.

CAN I USE OTHER NOZZLES ON MY MONTANA GLITTER 400ML?

The standard Montana GLITTER 400ml nozzles are not interchangeable with other Montana Cans caps. The Montana GLITTER 400ml can has a male valve which means a plastic tube protrudes out of the top of the can at the valve. The cap on the can is made to accept this tube.

Semi gloss translucent paint is the vehicle base carrying the high quality fine holographic glitter particles for a sensational metallic effect that can add a totally new dimension to all kinds of surfaces. From paper to cardboard, primed canvas, wood, glass, metal, ceramics, porcelain, stone, acrylic and just about any other paintable surface. Once applied, the semi gloss lacquer layer will have embed a fine distribution of holographic particles over the substrate. The more coats applied, the greater the intensity of the effect. Applying a layer(s) of Montana Gloss Varnish will not only protect the surface of your work, it will also allow more light to enhance the effect further. The final result will significantly be influenced by the color and gloss level of the undercoat. The hologram glitter particles are carried in a clear base that can easily be covered with many common lacquer types. Can be combined with Montana GOLD, Montana ACRYLIC markers and conventional acrylic paints. (Not compatible with Synthetic based paints!). Please note, due to the weight of the pigments, for best results it is important to re-shake after each spray application regardless of time between sprays to guarantee the pigments are correctly mixed with the paint vehicle.

USE: For best results we recommend applying it over Montana GOLD, Shock Black SH9000 or a dark colored underground that has had time to cure, allowing contrast to occur for the glitter particles to reflect on. The Hologram Glitter spray’s clear base can easily be covered with many common lacquer types. We recommend using it in conjunction with Montana GOLD, Montana ACRYLIC markers and conventional acrylic paints. (Not compatible with Synthetic based paints!).

Shake Well! Due to the weight of the pigments, for best results it is important to shake the can well for at least 3 minutes before starting and to re-shake for at least 10 seconds after each spray application regardless of the time between sprays. This will guarantee the pigments are correctly mixed with the paint vehicle. The Hologram Glitter Effect spray is best applied to a smooth level surface to show greater light variation. Undulations in the substrates surface may detract from the impact of the holographic effect. Application of multiple, thin, light coats will build up the particle saturation and intensify the effect.

Surfaces should be clean and dry. Shake can well for 2-3 minutes! Apply the spray at a distance to the object of 20 - 30cm.  Best holographic effect can be achieved on even surfaces the darker the surface, the stronger the effect. Prime object black with Montana GOLD Shock Black S9000. Let undercoat fully cure apply several thin even layers allow min. 5 minutes drying time between coats. Shake the can well again after pausing to avoid sedimentation of glitter particles the more layers, the stronger the hologram effect. Dust dry after approx. 10 min. Touch dry after approx. 60 min. Fully cured after approx. 24 hours.
