Tightly plotted and razor sharp, Work for a Million is hard-boiled detective noir stunningly rendered against a 1970s urban backdrop.

When Helen Keremos, Private Detective, is hired by a beautiful recording artist who has just won a million dollar lottery prize, her plan for a quiet life on the West Coast is quickly diverted. Helen is fiercely loyal, an independent woman whose magnetic personality and storied career make her the city's premier private eye, suspicious of all stereotypes and not afraid to bend the rules. Rising star Sonia Deerfield has been receiving blackmail threats from an anonymous caller, and though she is surrounded by her keenly invested business team of "friends," Helen wonders how trustworthy they really are. As the stakes get higher and attempts are made on their lives, the two women are drawn closer together through the twists and turns of the blackmailer's dangerous pursuit--and their chemistry is no mystery.

In 1978 Eve Zaremba introduced detective Helen Keremos to readers in a pulp fiction series. The 1987 instalment of the series, Work for a Million, featured the first openly lesbian detective in genre fiction. The novel was adapted into a graphic novel in 2019 by television and comic book writer Amanda Deibert, and will be published more than forty years after readers fell in love with Helen Keremos and Eve Zaremba.

Vivid historical research into Toronto of the late-1970s and a dazzling cast of familiars and foes are brought to life on the page by Canadian artist Selena Goulding in a mixture of full colour and black and white illustrations.

Great price for a great shirt
Very nice men’s button down short sleeve shirt. Material is lightweight and breathable, easy to wash, and easy to iron. True to size. Well made. Goes with anything.

Nice, but nowhere near slim fit
This cotton linen short-sleeve shirt is a decent option for summer casual wear. The fabric blend of cotton and linen seems to be of good quality - breathable and lightweight for warmer weather. It has a nice soft feel without being see-through. The design is fairly standard with the short sleeves, button front, and chest pocket. The imitation rhino horn buttons are an interesting detail that adds a touch of style. However, I found the fit to be quite baggy and loose around the midsection despite being labeled as "slim fit." The shirt length was also a bit longer than I preferred. While the shirt is billed as versatile for different occasions like beach vacations or evenings out, I think they are better suited for very casual daily wear or running errands. The loose, untucked fit looks a bit sloppy for anything dressier in my opinion. On the upside, they are low maintenance in terms of washing and drying. The sizing chart was accurate enough as far as chest and shoulder measurements, but the roomy cut threw off the "slim fit" sizing for me. Overall, these aren't bad summer shirts if you prefer a looser, more relaxed fit. The material seems breathable and of decent quality for the price. But the baggy bottom half and lengthier shape weren't ideal for my taste. They get the job done for casual wear but don't quite live up to the "slim fit" promise in the product description.

Impossible to iron
I used spray, shower steam and nothing would even start to get the wrinkles out. Unless you are prepared to do some heavy ironing, don't bother with this shirt.

Linen-Cotton Casual Shirt
I live in the subtropics; breathable fabrics are important in your wardrobe. I realize synthetics have benefits, but for me natural fabrics are my preference. Linen and Cotton blend; yes please. I was looking for smart casual, something more than a t-shirt or golf-shirt but less than button-down. Something that would pair well with a nice pair of shorts and look good. And that it does. Sizing is your question. I ordered a large because I often have difficulty fitting at the shoulder; the size chart indicates a medium would probably be better but I am OK with a little baggy casual too. In a brick-and-mortar store, I would normally try both sizes on and select the best fit. The arms and shoulder fit fine, the torso is a bit large. If I wear it to the beach unbuttoned, it looks great.
