Opener leaves wire threads on the rim of the can when opening. Poses a danger if ingested.

Purchased this item hoping it would make opening cans easier (I have osteoarthritis in my hands). First time I tried it, after it rounded the lid of a can of DelMonte green beans, nothing. I reseated it, and held it down when it started. It opened the can after circling the top two times. When I took the lid off the can, there were tiny wire "threads" stuck on the can, and more stuck on the Kitchen Mama opener. I was able to very carefully wipe the wire threads off and pour the can of beans into my pan. HOWEVER, I will not use this product again. Who wants to run the risk of ingesting wire threads?!!! I would return the product for a refund, but my husband destroyed the box opening it, so this will go into the garbage. I wouldn't sell at a garage sale or donate it, because someone else might ingest the wire threads, and then Kitchen Mama would have a lawsuit on their hands I wouldn't have given ANY stars, but you have to give at least one to write a review.

I didn't expect anything fancy but for the one job this thing had it still really let me down. This thing is so slow it reminds me of my AOL days. And when it's done, it just... keeps going. When you turn it off it takes FOREVER to wind down. The first few times I tried yanking it off because I thought it was stuck. And then it fully died in under a year. But honestly maybe what bothers me the most of all is when I contacted customer support about the warranty replacement, I got an email back asking for photographic proof that my BATTERIES WERE IN CORRECTLY. Really? (A photo that I could not provide because it had broken days earlier and I threw it in the trash, who hoards broken appliances?). I really expected better from a ‘reputable’ brand.
