What it's used for

  • Truck and trailer flooring where slip resistance and structural load-bearing are essential
  • Loading platforms and mezzanine floors in warehouses and distribution centres
  • Trench covers, bridge decking, and temporary access platforms on construction sites
  • Grandstands, railway wagons, and other public or commercial flooring applications requiring a rated anti-slip surface

Fitting and handling

Store boards flat and under cover before installation to prevent moisture uptake at the core edges, even though the acrylic resin sealed edges offer good protection. Fix using countersunk bolts or heavy-duty screws at regular centres into a sound subframe, ensuring the anti-slip face is orientated upward. If cutting on site, reseal any fresh cut edges promptly with an appropriate resin-based edge paint to maintain moisture resistance.

FAQ

What is the slip resistance rating of this trailer flooring plywood?

The board carries an R13 slip resistance classification tested to DIN 51130. This is one of the higher anti-slip ratings available and is suitable for environments where people walk or work on the surface while wearing safety footwear.

Can this phenolic plywood be used outdoors or in wet conditions?

Yes. The phenolic resin film faces and acrylic resin sealed edges give the board strong resistance to moisture, chemicals, and weathering, making it appropriate for outdoor and wet industrial environments such as trailers, loading bays, and open-sided storage areas.

Is 18mm thick enough for trailer flooring under heavy loads?

18mm birch phenolic plywood is the standard thickness for most trailer and truck flooring applications and handles typical freight loads well when laid over a properly spaced subframe. For unusually heavy point loads or wider joist spacings, consult the board manufacturer's load tables or consider a 21mm or 24mm option.

Wonderful and short introduction to plate tectonics for those with little background in Earth science or mathematics
Format: Paperback
Molnar does an excellent job explaining key elements of plate tectonics. His book is understandable even for those with little background in geology or geophysics. Molnar, an expert on mountain building, nicely explains how collisions of plates with continents atop cause mountain belts to form. He also questions the limitations of plate tectonics in explaining formation of such mountains. Understanding Molnar's very short book requires little mathematics. An ideal text for college science courses for non-science majors, and for those who want to understand the evolution of Earth's geological features and phenomena.

Easy to read
Format: Paperback
The book was an easy to read discussion of plate tectonics. The technical terms were easily understood and presented in an interest manner. Technically sound and entertaining is a winning combination for a science book! I wold recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic but is not a scientist in the field.

Very short and very good
Format: eTextbook
I read this book or one similar to it my senior year in high school 1970. It absolutely caught my attention as a way to explain why the continents had separated from Gondwanaland. I really liked revisiting the theory in light of the advances made since then

I love VSI on Kindle
Format: eTextbook
The thing is they take a long time to read because of the look up feature. It's like reading a book in the Library of Congress.

Format: Paperback
There are few who are capable of telling the story of plate techtonics including critical details. Peter Molnar is one of those chosen few who can deliver such a story succinctly and precisely.
