A vivid narrative history of the Solomons campaign of World War II, one of the key turning points in the U.S. Navy's campaign against the Japanese in the Pacific. If the Battle of Midway, fought in June 1942, stopped further Japanese expansion in the Pacific, it was the Battle of Guadalcanal and the following Solomons Campaign that broke the back of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Between August 7, 1942 and February 24, 1944 when the Imperial Japanese Navy withdrew its surviving surface and air units from Rabaul, the main Japanese base in the South Pacific, the US Navy fought the most difficult campaign in its history, suffering such high personnel losses during the campaign that for years it refused to publicly release total casualty figures.Unlike the Central Pacific Campaign, which was fought by ‘the new Navy,’ the Solomons campaign saw the US Navy at its lowest point, using those ships that had survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and other units of the pre-war navy hastily transferred to the Pacific. After the Battle of Santa Cruz in late October, USS Enterprise was the only pre-war carrier left in the South Pacific and the Navy would not have been able to resist the Imperial Japanese Navy had they sought a third major fleet action in the region. For most of the campaign, the issue of which side would ultimately prevail was in doubt until toward the end when the surge of American industrial production began to make itself felt.Under the Southern Cross examines the Solomons campaign from land, sea and air, offering a new account of the military offensive that laid the groundwork for Allied success throughout the rest of the Pacific War. Good Multi-use Panels
Color: Grey
These panels were easy to assemble and stand sturdy. i will use them to block the sun when I am outside doing yard work in the heat. I'm sure I will find other uses for them too.

We threw it away
Color: Grey
This thing cannot stand on its own, the side bars bend since it is not sturdy enough to handle the material screens. After assembly, I was so mad at it, the pleasure of crushing it was better than returning it. I tryed to think of other ways to use it, but could not… i kept the screens, they are the strongest part of this thing. Very disappointing

Works well
Color: Beige
Does the trick for privacy and some noise blockage. This takes two people to put together. The construction make it easy to assemble, but makes it just as easy to come apart on its own.

Excellent privacy shade.
Color: Coal Black
This delivered on exactly what it promises. So happy with the quality for the value. The shades are a fabric, nylon like, that are attached with a pocket on one end and velcro that adheres around the bar on the other. This was incredibly easy and straightforward to put together. Every piece was clearly labeled, coordinated with the instruction sheet, and fit perfectly. Honestly, I wasn’t planning to leave a review but I was so impressed by how clearly labeled and well explained the instructions were that I felt compelled to note it. Especially for anyone who doesn’t like putting things together, or is used to subpar instructions, this is leagues above the rest. It’s such a simple build anyway, but after buying so many things that barely fit as they should, this stands out. It is lightweight and easy to move. Offers privacy when opened, then can be folded out of the way. It looks exactly as pictured. No complaints, it’s a solid item and worth the price.

Decent quality for the price
Color: Grey
Decent quality for the price. Other privacy screens were extremely out of my budget, but this looks and works just fine- I just needed something simple to place behind my couch to hide some clutter. It took me about a half hour to assemble, but it was easy enough. It might be due to my carpeting, but I don't trust that the screen would be stable enough to stand freely without falling. Thankfully my plan all along was to wedge the screen between the couch and a box of clutter anyway, so for me it works as l'd planned!
