Description

PMO 40mm Carburetor Kit for Porsche 911 — 2.0–2.4L Street Set-Up | Air-Cooled 911 (PM-O801-0)The PMO 40mm Carburetor Kit is the gold standard induction upgrade for early Porsche 911 engines. Designed and manufactured in the USA by PMO Parts (Porsche Motor Operations), these carbs deliver the throttle response, sound, and reliability that Webers and Solexes simply can't match in a street car. This Street Set Up is jetted for 2. 0L, 2. 2L, and 2. 4L engines and arrives ready to bolt on. Why PMO Beats Weber and Solex Made in USA machined in

The PMO 40mm Carburetor Kit is the gold-standard induction upgrade for early Porsche 911 engines. Designed and manufactured in the USA by PMO Parts (Porsche Motor Operations), these carbs deliver the throttle response, sound, and reliability that Webers and Solexes simply can't match in a street car. This Street Set-Up is jetted for 2.0L, 2.2L, and 2.4L engines and arrives ready to bolt on.

Why PMO Beats Weber and Solex

  • Made in USA — machined in California from billet aluminum, not casting-quality Italian parts
  • Precision throttle shafts — sealed bearings eliminate the air leaks that plague Weber IDA carbs
  • Proper accelerator pump circuit — no more flat spots off idle
  • Better part availability — PMO supports their carbs with rebuild kits, jets, and venturis directly
  • Authentic 911 character — the right look, sound, and feel for your air-cooled Porsche

Kit Includes

  • Pair of PMO 40mm carburetors, pre-jetted for 2.0-2.4L street engines
  • Intake manifolds (PMO-specific)
  • Throttle linkage kit
  • Air cleaner assembly
  • Mounting hardware, gaskets, and insulators
  • Installation instructions

Specifications

  • Part Number: PM-O801-0
  • Carb Bore: 40mm
  • Application: 2.0L, 2.2L, 2.4L flat-six engines
  • Tuning: Street set-up (mild cam, stock or near-stock compression)

Fitment

  • 1965-1973 Porsche 911 (2.0L, 2.2L, 2.4L engines)
  • Pairs well with stock or mild performance cams
  • Best for engines making 130-180 HP
  • NOT recommended for high-compression race builds — see PM-O802-0 (Performance) for 2.4-2.7L performance applications

  • Weight: ~23 lbs
  • Ships UPS or FedEx Ground from California

Tuning tip: All PMO kits come pre-jetted for the listed engine size and "street" tuning means mild-cam, pump-gas, near-stock compression. If you're running a hot cam, higher compression, or unusual altitude, plan on a jet change. PMO rebuild kits (PM-O700-0) keep these carbs running indefinitely.

Compare: Patrick Motorsports retails this kit at $6,795. We're $800 below at $5,995 — same kit, same warranty, same PMO USA quality.

Smooth edges better than twisting
Works a lot better than the crank style and the counter top electric and you can use the lid to reseal the can if you don't use the whole thing.

Worked for only 4 months. Now produces metal shards. Dangerous
Pros: Can be used with one hand. I bought this to have after surgery that left me without use of one arm for a few months. The light blinks when you need to charge it. Only needs a 2-3 min charge for enough juice to open a can. Cons: IT QUIT CUTTING CORRECTLY AFTER 4 MONTHS. I now have to use both hands to hold it in place to get it to latch on to the can. It also requires a few rotations around the top to cut through the seal, resulting in METAL SHARDS! The metal shards are super sharp and almost invisible. I stabbed myself with one enough to draw blood. This is dangerous as the metal could fall into the food when pouring from the can.

Can opener
It doesn't shut off by itself when done and doesn't shut off when I push the button, so after a while it will shut off but when it wants too after you take it off the can ,like 30 seconds. But I do like the way it cuts, a clean cut and lid removal nice.
