Purple pansies signify family to me. As one of my Grandmom's favorite flowers and colors, she planted them every year and filled her home with purple pansy print items. Pansies are a hardy flower in the east, often lasting well into the cold, crisp nights of fall; they are some of the last blooms of color you will see before the grey of winter sets in.

In addition to the strong family ties to this flower, I am drawn to the deep colors in the petals and the tiny streaks of color- such detail! Pansies are a ubiquitous flower, but if you really stop and look, you will see they pack a punch of beauty in a small package! For all of these reasons, I wanted to celebrate this flower in an art print. It is titled "Thelma" after my pansy-adoring Grandmom.
