Combining the softness and breathability of merino wool, with the strength and abrasion-resistance of hemp, our ‘Wombat’ socks are comfortable on your feet, and kind to the environment.

While they do not score high on the durability scale, as we have removed all elastic and nylon from our 'Wombat' socks, and finished the socks with our statement blue silk toe seam, they can be composted when no longer repairable, without leaving a trace of microplastics. 

Our 'Wombat’ socks should be paired with snug, well-fitted shoes, or they will wear out quite quickly. The absence of elastic and nylon also may cause the sock to become baggy on the foot, when worn as house or bed socks, or with loose fitting shoes.

Do Loose Top Socks fall down?
No. We have found over the years that when the correct sock size and style is matched to your shoe type we can keep the sock in place. A little give but not too much stretch, combined with a well-rounded, deep heel made as close to a 90-degree angle as possible, keeps our socks anchored to your feet, so that even with a loose top they won’t fall down. What are your 'Wombat' Loose Top Socks made from?
Our 'Wombat' Loose Top Socks are made from 97% Australian-grown merino wool and 3% hemp for added strength and durability.

Are the socks itchy?
Not at all! Merino wool is incredibly soft, making them socks perfect for all-day comfort.

Can I wear these socks year-round?
Yes! Merino naturally regulates temperature, keeping your feet warm in winter and cool in summer.

Are they unisex?
Yes, all our socks are unisex – simply match your shoe size with our Size Guide.

How do I wash the socks?
Sizing will be correct after the first wash. We recommend a quick, cold machine wash. They should be washed separately, or in a hosiery and lingerie wash bag so they do not catch on other garments.
