From our Heritage collection, the 'Alfred' dress sock is a great all rounder that's comfortable; warm in winter, cool in summer and extremely hard wearing. The combination of yarns not only creates a tough hard wearing sock but still maintains great wicking capabilities to keep your feet dry.

Alfred socks are equally happy to be worn with dress shoes or for any casual wear from sneakers to riding boots or some work boots. They're great for summer because they offer excellent comfort in shoes, but without creating too much warmth as the ribbed style ventilates your feet.

These loose top socks have no elastic at all, with a well-shaped heel to keep them in place. They're perfect for people with circulation issues.

No. We have found over the years that when the correct sock size and style is matched to your shoe type we can keep the sock in place. A little give but not too much stretch, combined with a well-rounded, deep heel made as close to a 90-degree angle as possible, keeps our socks anchored to your feet, so that even with a loose top they won’t fall down. How do I wash merino socks?
Sizing will be correct after the first wash. We recommend a quick, cold machine wash. They should be washed separately, or in a hosiery and lingerie wash bag so they do not catch on other garments.
