CASH Award for LUMIN AMP

Audiophile Style have published their review of LUMIN T3 and LUMIN Amp (used separately and together), adding it to their prestigious list of suggested hardware.

During the review Chris Connaker states:

"build quality leaves little to be desired."

"When great music sounds this wonderful, it's addicting."

"The fully balanced dual mono design, from front to back in both T3 and AMP, really makes a sonic difference that can be enjoyed thoroughly."

"Great music and great sound quality, from a fairly compact component."

"The sound quality I heard through the Lumin T3 and Lumin AMP, in addition to the great product support and knowhow of the Lumin team, made for a terrific experience all around. The Lumin T3 and Lumin AMP are both CASH Listed, without hesitation."

6moons

June 2020

6moons have published a unique review of LUMIN X1, LUMIN Amp and the new Leedh Processing Volume Control algorithm - presenting the combination with their coveted Blue Moon Award!

During the review Joël Chevassus states:

"So the Lumin Amp was very honest and realistic. It became one of very few amplifiers which didn't create an impression of editorializing. Yet it didn't sound sterile or clinical as is very often the case with IcePower or Hypex designs."

"Lumin have chosen to exclude an analog preamplifier from their high-fidelity circle and that's perhaps one of the greatest achievements to get us closer to our recordings than ever before."

"This combo easily competes with the very best by CH Precision or Constellation Audio, simply at a fraction of their price. That clearly deserves an award."

"If you already own an X1 or S1, the Lumin Amp will be perfect especially in this price range."

Fidelity Online

May 2020

Fidelity Online have published their LUMIN X1 and LUMIN Amp review.

During the review Michael Vrzal states:

"It's all very coherent, relaxed, broadband, confident and somehow just right. This perfect judged balance is not in the least bit associated with boredom. The Lumin Amp can groove, it plays fluently, melodically, tonally flawlessly and without peaks or hardnesses."

"I have rarely enjoyed working with a power amplifier as much as with the Lumin."

"A sensation for a first-time: Lumin shows that they can also be anticipated in the area of amplifiers in the future. Perfect look and workmanship."

Mono & Stereo Magazine

October 2019

Mono & Stereo Magazine have published their LUMIN Amp review - presenting it with their Highly Recommended Award.

During the extremely positive review Matej Isak states:

"LUMIN made quite a bold move and succeeded."

"The level of LUMIN Amp immediacy, dynamic control and the absence of self imprint belongs to the league of its own."

"The LUMIN Amp has not only proven to be a great match with the LUMIN's own audiophile network players. During my extended listenings, it has manifested a very broad synergy with several preamplifiers. The cherry on the top of the cake was LUMIN Amp's ability to be directly driven by the DACs. This puts the LUMIN Amp among very few amps in which input impedance allows such a purist partnering."

U-Audio

July 2019

Taiwanese website U-Audio have published their LUMIN Amp and S1 audition results.

During the review they state:

"And the chassis dimensions and slope angle are just right, so you just put Lumin's standard-size streaming player on top, and the curved-inclined panel fits seamlessly to form a minimalist and holistic system. That's how Lumin think."

"There is no excess rendering or exaggeration, so it is natural. It shows the changes in the power of the playing, and the thickness and elasticity of the sound. It's both powerful and delicate."

"Starting from now, Lumin is no longer just a streaming player brand. Because of Lumin Amp, it has a new identity."

many feelings
Format: Kindle
I didn’t know what this book was about when I first started reading.. one thing I felt at the beginning was…amazement? I love writing letters, something I don’t do often, I recently bought this beautiful fountain pen, I wanted to start small, writing greeting cards to family and friends, birthday cards, thank yous, etc. what I didn’t expect is the emotional toll this book had on me, and other members of my family who read the book for our book club. The subject matters, death of a child, husband dying of cancer, the significance of May 29th, all impacted our family, and so, as I read this book, I had to put it down several times because I had to cry, compose myself, think of regrets I have, and remember. How amazing it is that Sybil was able to write all about the death of her child to her dead child. I always say that writing it down on paper releases your burden in your head…it is true, I think writing letters, even the ones she didn’t send helped her quiet her head, at least for a while. I truly love this book. I have been borrowing books from Libby to read for our book club for a very long time, there have been books that I fell in love with, and always thought if I want to read them again I’ll just borrow them again, this book is the first one that I want to own physically to put on my shelf and know that I have it to read over and over again when I want to reflect and then quiet my head. ( This is the longest review I’ve written about a book I’ve read, I hope it makes sense).

Successful Epistolary Novel
Format: Kindle
When we first meet Sybil Van Antwerp, age 73, she is retired from law and spends a lot of time writing letters and emails. She also reads a lot and is interested in what her correspondents are reading. She has children and grandchildren, but she lives alone in Annapolis, Maryland, and doesn’t see her family very often. During the course of reading her correspondence, we very gradually learn about Sybil—her history and her present troubles. She is a complicated character and several times in reading The Correspondent I paused to ask myself what I thought of Sybil—did I like her? What about her kept me from the immediate response a reader usually has about the main character of a book? Even at the end of the book, I am still ambivalent about Sybil, but I certainly understand her much better. Sybil, herself, and the book have so many layers. There is true depth to the story. My book club took deep dives into it over a period of three weeks, and I don’t think we have sampled all the topics represented in this book. It is a wonderful novel for stimulating meaningful discussion. Neurodivergence is not called out or named, but it comes to mind in thinking about Harry, a child who is the son of a judge, a former colleague of Sybil. The boy doesn’t quite fit in socially with his peers, but he is brilliant. Sybil makes the perfect “pen pal” for Harry because they have some of the same characteristics. As a child she was punished for “insolence and rudeness,” but her parents were just trying to mold her into a polite young lady as expected by society. She was blunt and didn’t have many friends. There are so many other issues worthy of discussion, but they would most certainly bring up spoilers. I won’t do that to you. Readers should have the opportunity to see the story gradually emerge from the letters, including a continuing one that the reader doesn’t know to whom Sybil is writing. Sybil sets the word “stone” for secrets, and there are stones in this book making it a puzzle, a mystery of sorts—for the reader. As a reviewer, I tend to go quickly from one book to the next as soon as I have composed and published my thoughts. Characters in various books can even blend together. This is not the case with The Correspondent. The characters in this book, especially Sybil, have stayed with me and come to mind frequently as I go through my day. Virginia Evans has created a fictional world with impact. Just as Sybil needed time (years in her case) to process the events of her life, the reader will need time to process them and their effects on Sybil as well.

Loving it so far
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I really didn't know what to expect with a book full of names, but I love a murder mystery & needed more post work hobbies, so I thought this would be interesting & was I right. This book has been so engaging and keeps my mind in a good focused place instead of the usual dissociation after a stressful day of work or doom scrolling. It was nice to come up with my own little system as to how I would solve the clues on each page & keep track of everything. If you're interested in puzzles, or just need something interesting to keep busy, I feel this is a great concept to solve a mystery. 100% would recommend.
