Apex Chassis Tie Rod Dana 30/44 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL Gladiator JTThis is a complete replacement tie rod assembly kit for your Wrangler JL or Gladiator JT. It includes the tie rod (polished aluminum or steel) which is also the adjusting sleeve, and left & right forged steel tie rod ends, plus 2 Ninja Lock Washers. It does not include the steering stabilizer bracket which you will need to choose in the options above based on the steering stabilizer you use. This is a complete replacement tie rod assembly kit for your Wrangler JL or Gladiator JT. It includes the tie rod (polished aluminum or steel) which is also the adjusting sleeve, and left & right forged steel tie rod ends, plus 2 Ninja Lock Washers.
It does not include the steering stabilizer bracket which you will need to choose in the options above based on the steering stabilizer you use.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Wheels and Spacers: If you run AEV or stock Rubicon wheels, you'll need a 1.5" spacer. This kits works with a 17" wheel with a 4.75" backspacing or less. We recommend the steering stabilizer be fitted in the stock location, or a relocation kit may be required.
- This steering system fits stock Dana 30 axles. If your jeep has been upgraded to a Dana 60 axle, Apex Chassis has modifications that can work with that as well, just contact us to order.
HOUSING
- SAE 1045 Solid Steel Forged Housing: This is unequivocally the best carbon alloy steel for this application.
- CNC Machined Housing: Make Apex Chassis parts and bearings dimensionally perfect, eliminating any die wear issues.
BALL STUDS
- SAE 4140 hot forged Chromoly Ball Studs: For strongest possible metallurgy.
- Induction Heat Treated Ball Studs: Provides a very precise heat treatment to the exact depth and location we want it.
- Rolled Threads: Are made by pressing the shape of the threads into the ball stud instead of cutting. This strengthens the threads instead of weakening them and allows for easy movement of hardware. This ain't no Ikea furniture!
- Step Threads : Allows for very easy movement of hardware on install and superior holding when torqued. (Installer Choice).
BEARING DESIGN
- Rugged Metal to Metal Bearing.
BOOTS
- CR Rubber Boots: The most durable material for undercar applications. Resistant to deterioration from road level ozone, oil/gas/engine fluids and extreme heat or cold
- Accordion Boot: ideal for high-articulation components, more flexibility means longer life.
FINISH
- Rod Ends - Phosphate Finish: Extremely durable. Double coated. Rugged look. Adjusting Sleeves - E-Coat Finish:Durable e-coat treatment
HARDWARE
- Grade 8 - Class 10.9 Hardware: Superior tensile strength.
- Castle Nut: Industry standard where high vibration loads occur.
ADJUSTING RODS
- 2" 7075-T6 Aluminum Rod:The best aluminum available for this application. Extremely durable but has some flex and memory if you really bash it into something.
LUBRICATION
- Pre-threaded Zerk Housing: If you have ever installed a MOOG Ball Joint without a pre-threaded zerk fitting you will understand what a simple but great feature this is. Another installer fav.
- Greaseable: Because it should be.
- Pre-Greased: Just in case you forget, we have you covered.
- Gull Winged Grease Grooves : Allows for improved lubrication disbursement around the ball stud.
- Zerk Fittings : Included for every application.
SPECIAL FEATURES
- Tie Rod Ends & RH Drag Link End - Flopper Stoppers Built In: Unlike the poly hockey pucks that most brands use, our heavy duty "Flopper Stoppers" are built into the tie rod end and drag link end bearings, giving you an industry leading 27 degrees of stud swing left and right and only 2 degrees of stud swing forward and aft, keeping your tie rod and drag link from rotating and flopping. The competitor hockey puck style systems also call for the removal of the tie rod end boot, which is there to keep the dirt out and the grease in.
- Ninja Washers:An APEX exclusive is the Ninja Washer which is a unique method of securing the lock nut to the tube, erasing the need for lightly built adjusting tubes with ugly pinch clamps. And who doesn't want a ninja on their front end!

EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!!!!
If I could give it 10 stars, I would. This ball is AMAZING! Love that it's rechargeable, that it shuts off after 10 minutes of inactivity, that it changes colors. It's dark by the time I get home from work so playing ball in the dark with this ball is a game changer.

Was hopeful…
Was hoping this version would be better, but no. Welcome to the Nite Ize repair center. The pictures show the old version run by LED batteries. Although they claim the balls are waterproof, no. I’ve learned to clean out the contacts and add new batteries to reuse them, but a lot of the time the rust has already formed. The new rechargeable version is more expensive and has the same ‘waterproof’ casing. First charge was good; second charge didn’t even last for our retrieving sessions one evening. Third session on a full
Charge didn’t even last one session. Too much money for the quality. When they work - they are great. Unfortunately, still the best on the market, it it’s just like throwing away money. Innovators???

Works Great! Very bright
My dog and I really love this ball. Bought this so we can play in the field behind our house at night. Tried other balls, like the glowing ones, but they're not bright enough. Other battery powered balls don't stay on long enough and I got tired of looking for them in the dark. This one stays on, depending on the switch setting, either 5 minutes, or indefinitely until it's shut off or until the battery dies. The battery, according to the instructions, should last 10 hours before needing recharging. I've charged it once when it was received, haven't had to re-charge it yet, played with it about 7 nights now 20 min each time and it's still going.
Others have said it's not very durable, but I've found it to be durable enough to play catch with our border collie, haven't had any issues. but I don't let him chomp on it all he wants, just throw it and he brings it back. I suppose if your dog is an aggressive chewer and you let him just sit there and go to town on it, it won't last very long, just like any other ball. We use this ball only at night when needed, and use cheaper balls at other times to increase its life span.

THIS IS A MUST-BUY! If you have a dog--you NEED this ball!

We have two 18-month-old chocolate Labs (brothers—basically twins with paws). The best time to walk them is early morning or just before dark… which is exactly how we managed to lose approximately 9,472 tennis balls in our cornfield. RIP, brave yellow soldiers.
So I went searching for a ball that didn’t just glow—I wanted one that full-on lights up like a tiny dog disco. Enter this LED ball. Game. Changer.
Our walks are now way more fun. The ball bounces, flashes, and changes colors like it’s auditioning for a rave. People literally slow their cars as they drive past our field just to watch the light show. I’m not saying we’re local celebrities now… but I’m not not saying that either.
And here’s the real magic: when the boys get distracted and abandon the ball (because squirrel), it stays lit so I can actually find it. We also bought a ball launcher from Walmart for about $9, and the LED ball fits perfectly—same size as a tennis ball, just 100x cooler.
This ball is waterproof and mostly floats, although I haven’t been brave enough to throw it into the pond or river because I’m positive my dogs would treat that as a full-scale navy search mission and never find it again.
It’s easy to charge, and even with 2–3 hours of walking daily, I only have to plug it in every few weeks. We’ve had it for months now and it’s still going strong—super durable. We don’t let them chew on it off-walk (because Labs), but during fetch? It’s a champ.
Also—small but hilarious detail—when they catch it, their mouths light up. I have accidentally created glow-in-the-dark dogs.
I love this ball so much I’m buying a backup because life without it is not an option. Best dog toy EVER. Whoever invented this deserves a medal, a parade, and a lifelong supply of tennis balls they’ll never lose again. 🐾💡

DISAPPOINTED
Color: Blue
only lasted 3 months after about a dozen uses. The LED core fell out and now it's totally useless. Not worth the cost at all. Disappointed because my dogs really loved them.
