Add power and fuel economy to your Duramax with the most trusted name in diesel performance, Banks Power.

Stop the competition dead in their tracks with the Derringer Tuner. Banks delivers torque and power gains across the full operating rpm range, starting right off idle and marching to the shift point in each gear. Derringer is dyno calibrated to use multiple data inputs such as throttle position, RPM, vehicle speed, AFR, knock and coolant temperature, just like your engine's ECU. Its microprocessor based electronics are able to actively and safely optimize calibrations in real time. No competitive product does that.

Derringer has six switched settings. Level 6 produces Best in Class performance that knocks you back in your seat. The Level 3 setting is for work use and has great mid-range feel. When running Level 3 with a loaded work truck and/or pulling a trailer, your on ramp merging speeds and passing times are greatly improved.

The electronics are molded into a waterproof connector, which is easily concealed and communicates using B-Bus (Banks Bus) with other devices such as the iDash Super Gauge/Control Center. The Derringer connects in line with the Throttle Inlet Pressure (TIP) and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensors. But, unlike others it also connects to the vehicle's OBDII diagnostic bus connector. A CAN (controller area network) transceiver chip communicates with OBD or B-Bus allowing Banks' microprocessors to talk with the vehicle. On top of that, Derringer's special coolant temp watchdog prevents power addition when the engine is too cold or overheated. The Derringer also auto-adjusts power if knock occurs due to bad fuel. Maximum safe power is all automatic with a Derringer, you just choose your setting.

The Banks difference when it comes to L5P POWER! - Derringer has 6 power levels, adjustable on-the-fly, with a best gain of +117 hp pushing power well above 520 wheel hp to the road. Plus, the massive increase of +225 lb-ft of torque is situated right in the heart of the power band where you need it most.

How the Derringer does what it does, and why. - There's no easy way to make more power for your daily driven L5P with GM's ECU and factory turbo, no magic flash or special "chip" available. Banks had to go the tuner route, and making an inline tuner for your truck was no easy task. Banks has almost a thousand man-hours into Derringer development. Fortunately, they've been making tuners for 20 years, so it was all in a day's work.

The Derringer is a plug-and-play microcomputer designed for easy installation, it's waterproof for convenient under hood mounting, and connects to the iDash Data Pro Powertrain Information Center for the ultimate in information and power selection, unlocking three additional power levels.

AutoRate - Unlike the fixed tuning used by others, the Derringer calibration is continuously adjusting to provide you the peak possible performance under every driving condition. By utilizing the power of the OBD-II data, the tuner intelligently fine-tunes its calibration on the fly without you having to change its power level.

  • Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) - The Derringer senses your engine's EGT and intelligently modulates fueling to maintain a safe maximum EGT, protecting your turbo and engine.
  • Altitude compensation - The Derringer senses ambient air pressure, controlling the turbocharger to maintain added boost and power as altitude increases.
  • Coolant Temperature Monitoring - The Derringer senses coolant temp to control added power. During warmup, no power is added below 120° F, then power is ramped in and fully available above 150° If the coolant overheats for any reason, the Derringer starts removing its power at 230° F and additional power is totally removed if you exceed 240° F.
  • Full Power Timer - If set on Sport level, the Derringer allows for 30 seconds of wide open throttle before transitioning to the recommended power level for sustained tow/haul. (Our research has shown that the stock L5P when at full power will hit 1450° EGT and after a minute or so will pull out fuel to cool things down. So, we do the same thing.)

TransCommand Active Transmission Safety System - In addition to AutoRate Adaptive Tuning, the Derringer High Output is calibrated to modulate power during shifts for better clutch engagement. Thanks to its OBD connectivity, Derringer knows when the GM/Allison 10-speed transmission is shifting gears. It reduces its added power momentarily to allow for a smooth shift. Competitive tuners have no idea or simply ignore when the transmission is shifting and continue to add power, overspeeding the transmission and causing long-term damage.

  • Intelligent Shift Tuning - Gear shifts are optimized for each power level to protect the transmission and increase shift speed while protecting against torque converter and clutch slip.
  • Accelerator Pedal Monitoring - Rolls in additional power progressively, optimizing for both part-throttle fuel economy and maximum power when you want it.

ActiveSafety - Banks combines mechanical fail-safe measures to revert to stock in the event of internal failure while also intelligently adding power based on vehicle operating conditions, such as cold or hot coolant temps or knock from bad fuel.

  • Internal self-diagnostics checks health of the system 50 times per second
  • Monitors MAP and FRP signals for out of range condition (disconnected or short circuit)
  • Bypass relays smoothly return stock power with no loss of power or "Limp Mode"
  • Active safety engages if 12-volt power is lost to the Derringer tuner
Additional Features with iDash
  • High resolution screen with ultra-wide viewing angles
  • Vibrant high-contrast selectable color schemes
  • Higher speed datalog rate
  • Expanded memory for nearly unlimited vehicle support
  • Over-The-Air updates via Bluetooth

Slow, sorry but good
Format: Kindle
This was a slow moving book. Lots of character pov chapters, lots of superfluous descriptions and endless courtly appearances stalled this book to start. Once you get into the heart of the story, it takes off. Before you know it the book is done. My favorite character is Reyna. She is so strong. She is true to herself. She gets into a lot of trouble with her headstrong ways but it's entertaining. I have high hopes for Lorcan. He is honorable to a fault. Thane had turned out to be better than I thought but i still don't like him. Eislin is useless. Great plot twists at the end. I'm looking forward too book 2.

Very detailed! Beautiful world building! Strong Heroine!
Format: Kindle
Starts off a little slow and confusing with different POV’s, but starts to all come together towards the middle to make an elaborate plot line and makes it all worth it. Beautiful world building and attention to detail as well as great writing. The cliffhanger was gut wrenching! Can’t wait for the next book!

Interesting
Format: Kindle
This was a very captivating book once you got into it thoroughly. But the third person perspective was a bit hard to get used to. But as you got into it and followed the different characters, it was interesting and filled with intrigue, conflict and forbidden love. I can’t wait to read the next one and to complete the series.

OUTSTANDING
Format: Kindle
This was very, very good. The world is vast and characters are complex. There is a good plot with a whole lot going on. This is well written. Good twists and turns and some heart breaking moments. You will love these characters, they have heart and loyalty. I am hoping that there will be several more books. We've yet to see anything from the Sea Court but only a mention of them here and there. The Wood Court was given a quick couple of scenes, and only as far as some warriors, we've yet to enter their court and the Shadow Court, I'm not sure if they will be a force for good or bad, but they definitely will play a much bigger role moving forward. This is primarily the Ice and Air Courts. Told in multiple views, which I loved, it gives you a chance to see things from different eyes. There's alot of political maneuvering and deception. I loved it and will pick up the next book as it becomes available. If you like The Fae and the courts, you should love this. I think the author has mucn in store for us.

Definitely worth the read!
Format: Kindle
After taking a deep breath and taking in that wicked twist of an ending, I have finally composed myself. My first thought when I started this book was that I love Reyna's character. I was intrigued by her connection with her familiar and the Ruin that is plaguing her land. It came as no surprise that she took her sister's place in an attempt to protect her. When they reach the Air Court everything slows down. This is where it was iffy for me. First of all, I like multiple POV's in books however 7 is a bit much. It starts to interrupt the story line. I felt like I was finally making progress connecting with one character, then it was switched to another person. I felt they all had necessary or pertinent information but not necessarily were they all POV worthy. The only other thing that annoyed me was that Reyna constantly was " trapped." She would rush off without thinking, only to need rescuing. She is brilliant in a fight, but she really doesn't think through anything. Lorcan is amazing. I know he might be on the "bad" list, but his background is so interesting. Eislyn(Reyna's sister) is really so sweet, but calculating. I enjoyed her and Thane's dialogue. The author did an amazing job with the imagery in this book. Everything was so detailed it was easy to fall into the scene. I love unexpected twists and while part of the ending I expected, I wasn't expecting how it took place. All in all, I found it very entertaining and I am very invested in continuing this series. Favorite quotes: "The truth may be twisted but never false." "Who was she if she was not the enemy of the Air Court? What was her purpose of she no longer has that?" "In a war-torn land, love was always a lie."
