Deze prachtige Barolo van Azienda Agricola Pelassa toont de pure expressie van het Nebbiolo-druivenras uit de prestigieuze DOCG-zone van Piemonte. De druiven worden laat geoogst in de tweede helft van oktober en ondergaan een traditionele vinificatie met 15-20 dagen maceratie. Na malolactische gisting rijpt de wijn twee jaar in Franse en Slavonische eikenhouten vaten, gevolgd door een jaar flesrijping.

Smaakprofiel

In het glas toont deze Barolo een diepe granaatrode kleur met oranje reflecties. Het complexe bouquet ontvouwt aroma's van gedroogde rozen, viooltjes en een subtiele hint van teer, kenmerkend voor Nebbiolo. In de mond biedt de wijn een fluweelzachte textuur met rijpe kersensmaak, pruimen en verfijnde nuances van kaneel en witte peper. De nobele tannines zijn perfect geïntegreerd en zorgen voor een lange, elegante afdronk met hints van zoethout en tabaksblad.

Spijscombinaties

Excellent bij truffelpasta, osso buco alla Milanese, geroosterd hertenvlees en gerijpte Gorgonzola. Ook prachtig bij brasato al Barolo en wilde paddenstoelen. Serveer op 16-18°C.

Azienda Agricola Pelassa werd in 1960 opgericht door Mario Pelassa en wordt vandaag de dag gerund door zijn zonen Davide en Daniele. Het familiebedrijf beheert 12 hectare wijngaarden in de Roero-regio nabij Alba en staat bekend om elegante wijnen met een authentieke terroirexpressie. Pelassa combineert traditionele wijnmaaktechnieken met moderne precisie om de karakteristieke eigenschappen van klassieke Piemontese druivenrassen optimaal tot uiting te brengen.

This was a very interesting history of the court and a fairly good account of how it had changed as well as in other ways not changed over 2 centuries. In the final part regarding the current court, it is apparent that the author is not even handed regarding his analysis of the current justices and decisions, especially regarding anything involving President Trump. Overall, scholarly and well cited with much good analysis and explanation, at least through 80% or so of the book.
