Tijdens deze workshop leren we werken met de intrinsieke kwaliteiten van porselein en verhelderen we de eigenschappen ervan.

Eerst komt gips aan de beurt. Wat is het, hoe gebruik je het en ook waarom gebruik je het? Wat zijn "the do's and the don'ts".

Vervolgens bespreken we de samenstelling van porselein en het aanmaken ervan.

En hoe kan je een gietmassa beïnvloeden of aanpassen?

Dan komt het gieten zelf aan de beurt.

Wil je dun of dik gieten, wat wil je bereiken en hoe ga je dan te werk ? Waar kan je problemen verwachten en hoe voorkom je ze of los je deze op?

Wat na het gieten? Hoe werk je af? Hoe kan je samenstellingen van verschillende gietsels maken?

Uiteindelijk bespreken we het droogproces, welk glazuur te gebruiken en als laatste het baktraject.

Een dag gevuld met porselein 😊.

We werken bewust in kleine groepen, van max. 8 personen, om iedere deelnemer voldoende begeleiding en feedback te kunnen geven.

Voorkennis van gieten met gietklei is niet nodig. 

Inbegrepen:
- Ervaring van en begeleiding door Frans Gregoor en Kim Jolling
- Koffie, thee, water en soep à volonté
- De gezelligheid van een kleine groep deelnemers en een atelier in het groen


Zelf mee te nemen:
- Eventueel je eigen mallen. De studio heeft ook een beperkt aantal mallen ter beschikking.
- Eventueel je eigen gietporselein. Wij zorgen voor gietporselein Limoges PC010B aan 25 euro/5l indien gewenst.
- Eventueel een draaiplateau
- Gietkan, vorm mesje en spons
- Bats of plankjes indien je je ongebakken stukken mee naar huis wil nemen. De stukken kunnen ook voor een meerprijs in de studio gebakken worden.
- Schort en handdoek


Praktisch:
- Zondag 24 maart 2024: 9u30-12u30, 12u30-13u30: lunchpauze met soep, 13u30-16u30
- Lesgeld: 140 euro

Kim wordt deze dag vergezeld door Frans Gregoor, keramist in hart en nieren, met ondertussen 50 jaar! ervaring in de vingers.

Frans heeft een keramiek palmares om u tegen te zeggen. 

Hij werkte in verschillende ateliers oa in Portugal, in Engeland bij Wolfcastle Pottery en Iron Bridge Art Centre, in Ierland bij Bandon Pottery en Cape Clear Island Pottery, in Griekenland in Egio en tijdens WCC workshops in Crete Thrapsano.

Sinds 1979 is hij zelfstandig voltijds keramist en heeft hij zich bekwaamd in het werken met steengoed en porselein. De laatste jaren focust hij voornamelijk op het maken van porseleinen lichtobjecten en one off pieces.

Hij was leraar keramiek in de Academie in Tongeren en Syntra Tongeren van 2002 tot 2019. Hiernaast was hij ook gastleraar in verschillende scholen in België, Athene en Barcelona, en gaf hij demo’s in Nederland, Kreta en Frankrijk.


Zijn werk wordt momenteel geëxposeerd en verkocht in België, Nederland en Kreta.

It's awesome for a budget product!

I originally got a name brand widescreen monitor, but it was so ridiculously heavy that I returned it the same day it was delivered. I was back in the market for another one, but I figured it would be better to just go for a more budget option. I'm glad I did; this CRUA monitor is lighter in weight (so I don't have any fears that my motorized standing desk will collapse). The clarity on the screen is not the highest of high quality, but I didn't need that. I mostly use this when I work from home and need more screen space to work on multiple programs/files at once. The playback of videos and movies is pretty passable - you're not going to get the highest, pore-defining clarity with this, but again - it's a budget option so don't expect that. The only minor negative I have with this is that there are not enough ports, so you can't connect a USB mouse, earphones, or webcam to this, but I got an extender so it's fine. I was able to balance an external USB webcam on the top of this monitor. You cannot adjust the screen height, but adjusting the angle is possible. Haven't had any issues connecting the display to my work laptop via HDMI. The speakers - when I use them - are pretty good for the price.

Very good looking monitor, I can handle two laptops

This has worked fantastic for me. This doesn't have all the huge bells and whistles but right now I have two laptops hooked up to it I'm using a display port when using the USBC, and I have a whole bunch of other things plugged into both laptop USB chords like cameras Bluetooth adapters chargers memory and a mouse and amazingly I can use them both seamlessly I can switch to monitor between inputs and then my mouse and keyboard will work with whichever computer I'm using at the time. Perfect office/work USBC monitor with (finally) enough USB ports for your mouse, keyboard, webcam.

This is an office monitor NOT a gaming monitor. If you understand that you will be very happy. I spent absolute ages looking for a USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ultrawide monitor for work that has a built in USB hub. There is nothing more convenient than just plugging a laptop into a USB-C and getting power and all peripherals connected. Gamers will tell you to get a KVM and dock and all kinds of other stuff and they're not wrong but when you're working a 9-5 in tech simplicity and convenience are king. There are a lot of good options for ultrawides from LG and other brands that do this, but for some insane reason they only have two USB ports in their built-in hub. I need ports for my mouse, keyboard, webcam, potentially usb dongle headset. Need 4 ports. This is literally the only option with more than 2 ports for under $800. And it's waaay under $800. And it's great. It has auto dimming which is wonderful and the stronger curve of the monitor is fantastic for being a medium distance away. The 100hz is just icing . Is it as good as 144hz? nah. But for productivity work it's really really good. Everything you need and then some. It has kind of adjustable height with the stand. You can choose between three heights. So no adjustment on the fly. But that's alright. So - if you're looking for the best USBC monitor to connect all your stuff to so you can just plug in your work laptop for a budget.. This is it. The negative reviews here so far are people looking for a gaming monitor or someone who doesn't know how to adjust their operating system scaling.
