Marco Porello is een familie wijnhuis wat al in de jaren dertig het levenslicht zag. Het is gevestigd in het hart van Piemonte, de wijnstreek van Italië bij uitstek. Bij Italiaanse wijnen denken mensen vaak direct aan Veneto, Toscane of Puglia; het is echter Piemonte die diverse records in handen heeft. Zo komen de meeste DOC en DOCG wijnen uit deze streek in het Noord-Westen van Italië. Hiermee haalt het alle wijnstreken van Italië in. Marco Porello ligt in het hart van Piemonte, en heeft in alle streken binnen Piemonte prachtige wijngaarden liggen; van Barolo tot Arneis en Barbera. De wijngaarden voor deze witte wijn zijn gelegen rondom het dorpje Asti. Deze regio heeft vooral internationale bekendheid verworden vanwege de Moscato D’Asti, een zoet-zwoele sprankelende witte wijn. Zoals bij alle Moscato d’Asti, wordt het percentage restsuiker hoog gehouden. Dit zorgt voor het toegankelijke en aromatisch karakter van deze wijn. Bij deze wijn van Marco Porello is dat ook het geval. Echter is het boeket zoet, maar geen moment te plakkerig. Hierdoor is deze licht-mousserende wijn ook een aanrader voor bij een uitgebreid dessert. Je ruikt en proeft namelijk van alles in deze Moscato d’Asti: rijpe, witte druiven, overrijpe nectarines en prachtige witte bloemen. Een toets tropisch fruit openbaart zich op de tong. Excellent Adventure
Format: Paperback
For a small book this packs a powerful punch. Fourteen year old Troy is left in charge of his younger sister while his parents are away for twenty-four hours. Troy wakes to his cell phone ringing, his dog tugging on his sleeve and pitch blackness. Unable to reach their parents Troy goes next door to the neighbor for advice. Mrs. Jones makes it clear they should stay put. When Troy sees houses on their street erupt in flames he decides they have to leave. Unfortunately he can’t convince Mrs. Jones. Troy loads up his sister and their two pets in their dad’s Bronco and heads for what he hopes is safety.
This book is full of realistic action between the older brother and younger sister. He takes his promise to his parents to protect his sister even when she becomes annoying. This is fast paced, on the seat of your chair action from the very beginning. For those who are fans of the “I Survived “ series by Lauren Tarshis, I guarantee that you will enjoy this series. I highly recommend this to all adventure readers.

Very exciting story
Format: Paperback
Paradise is where my parents retired and are buried. The house they lived in burned down in the fire after 34 years of wonderful memories with my husband and our 3 children. We are just so grateful that my parents died before the fire, my dad being the last in 2016 at over 100 years old. Our youngest son has autism and trouble reading so this was the perfect book to have him read to me. It’s just at his reading level and was a very exciting story. We appreciate all of the facts about the fire the author put in the last pages of this book, too.

Fast Pace Scary Read
Format: Kindle
A short read that grabs your heart strings from the beginning and doesn't stop until the very end. You can feel the terror, the fear, the fire and smell the smoke as the kids run for their lives. You cheer the kids on scared for them and the pets. My heart racing, tears forming, worry working its way in, do they make it? Read this book to find out. Kudos to the authors for excellent writing. A book all should read and discuss with their families!!!

Grabs Your Attention from the Start
Format: Paperback
Well written and definitely grabs and keeps your attention. I read it in one sitting. So did my mom and sister. Just a warning, this book did trigger some anxiety for me because of the fire. It uses actual street names and timeframes. We love to read the “I Survived” series to my son and this one was better in my opinion but I have ties to Paradise.
