De MERCURY is een plate carrier van Sioen Ballistics en is compact ontworpen om maximaal comfort en flexibiliteit te bieden. Deze plaatdrager bevat twee ballistische platen NIJ-4 ICW aan de voor- en achterkant. MOLLE-systeem over het hele oppervlak waardoor een groot laadvermogen voor zo'n klein oppervlak mogelijk is.

Zeer gemakkelijk aan te trekken, goede bewegingsvrijheid, eenvoudig aan te passen dankzij klittenbandsluitingen op de schouders en een gespsysteem aan de zijkanten. De gespen voor de schoudergordels bevinden zich aan de achterkant, waardoor de voorkant vrij is van grote belemmerende gespen en een comfortabele scholderen van een geweer mogelijk maakt. Een 3D tunnel spacer voering geeft het gevoel van groot comfort. De Mercuri is ook uitgerust met klittenband om elk type identificatiebadges te bevestigen, er is ook een dorsale extractieband op aanwezig. Een intern bevestigingssysteem van de harde platen zorgt voor een goede positionering van de platen en dit ook tijdens achtervolgingen.

Harde kogelvrije plaatniveau NIJ-IV  moet boven een zacht NIJ-3A (04) kogelvrije vest of pakket gedragen worden.

Werkingsprincipe, kogel raakt de harde kogelwerende plaat, vervormt, breekt en verbrijzeld . Deze verbrijzelde kogelfragmenten gaan door de kogelwerende plaat NIJ-4 ICW en worden opgevangen door het zachte kogelwerende vest Pollux. Dit veroorzaakt wel een kleine traumablessure die onaangenaam maar ongevaarlijk is. Deze NIJ-4 ICW plaat is relatief dun.

This was a slow moving book. Lots of character pov chapters, lots of superfluous descriptions and endless courtly appearances stalled this book to start. Once you get into the heart of the story, it takes off. Before you know it the book is done. My favorite character is Reyna. She is so strong. She is true to herself. She gets into a lot of trouble with her headstrong ways but it's entertaining. I have high hopes for Lorcan. He is honorable to a fault. Thane had turned out to be better than I thought but i still don't like him. Eislin is useless. Great plot twists at the end. I'm looking forward too book 2.

Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance.
