Wijnhuis Pra werd begin jaren 80 opgericht en is uitgegroeid tot een van de topproducenten in de Soave appellatie. Ze staan bekend om hun typisch Italiaanse witte wijnen. Ze bezitten 30 hectare in Soave en 7 hectare in Valpolicella. Eigenaar Graziano Pra legt De nadruk bij natuurlijke wijnbouw en de wijngaarden zijn deels al biologisch gecertificeerd. Er worden alleen inheemse druivensoorten gebruikt waarbij de witte wijnen hoofdzakelijk bestaan uit Garganega of Trebbiano. Voor de rode wijnen zijn het de bekende Corvina, Corvinone en Rondinella. De druiven voor deze Grande Soave Classico vinden we in Monte Grande, een wijngaardperceel met lage opbrengst op het zuiden op het landgoed van 14 hectare. De wijngaard ligt op een hoogte van 150 meter boven zeeniveau en het bodemtype is vulkanisch. De wijnstokken zijn gemiddeld 40 jaar oud en de stelen van de Garganega trossen worden kort voor het oogsten afgesneden, om de druiven aan de wijnstok te laten drogen. Hierdoor krijg je nog geconcentreerde smaken. De druiven worden vervolgens half oktober handmatig geoogst. De druiven worden in de wijnmakerij streng geselecteerd, zacht geperst en vervolgens gefermenteerd bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur van 18 graden. De most wordt gefermenteerd in Allier eiken vaten, waar de wijn vervolgens 10 maanden in rijpt.De geur en smaak van Pra Monte Grande Soave Classico
Een ongelooflijk elegante wijn is het resultaat. Hij heeft een fijne, subtiel aromatische geur met verleidelijke aroma’s van perzik, citroen, mango honing en hartige tonen. De smaak is fris en puur met een diepe concentratie. We noteren steenfruit, ananas en citrus. Hij heeft een goede zuurgraad en een uitgebalanceerde afdronk. Carefully Researched Gives Insight To 19Th Century Occurances of: American, Canada, and Mexico!
Format: Hardcover
This book is a treasure as it covers not only the American Civil War but what intricate details are behind it and more, in addition covers the same eras for the Dominion of Canada, and French take over of Mexico along with the factors leading to "Cinco De Mayo," and more. As an avid reader of American History also as a amature historian this book is carefully detailed and gives insight to the racial and political beliefs at the life and times of the 19Th. Century. It deserves a place on your bookshelf and/or library. In these contemporary times, I am still more than pleased the the border frontiers between the Republic of Canada and United States of America remain the: "Longest Undefended Borders" in the entire globe.

Another Thought Provoking Book
Format: Kindle
Having read Professor Taylor's American Republics I greatly anticipated this volume in his series. The examination of both the Canadian and Mexican stories in this book along with the American Civil War helps provide context to the traditional narrative. I find his approach useful as it shows how the interactions between the US and its neighboring nations evolved. I'm hoping he continues the series

A Minority View of our History
Format: Kindle
If you want to learn more about American history from the perspective of minorities, this is a crowning achievement. It is long so I focused on reading the chapters on the US and it gave me an understanding of just how brutal the challenges were but how significant the slow process of building our multicultural society was as well.

Eye opening!
Format: Hardcover
I've read tons of books and biographies connected to American history, perhaps because I'm the son of immigrants, but have never read a survey like this one. By describing in luscious and sometimes horrific detail the wars being fought in Mexico and the main Canadian provinces alongside our Civil War, we get patterns, intersections, and insights that simply would not be available reading about any one struggle. I love this book which is teeming with wonderful portraits and dramatic scenes.

A worthy and worthwhile fourth volume in the series

Once again, Taylor frames a critical period of the past in terms of the continent of North America and ties the US Civil War to the one occurring concurrently in Mexico and Canada's move toward Dominion. All thoughtfully told and expertly researched.
