Het grote verschil met andere wijnen uit Saint-Emilion is de grote dosis Cabernet Franc die gebruikt wordt in combinatie met de Merlot druif.

De wijngaard ligt in een amfitheater op de Zuidzijde en aan de voet van Saint-Emilion. De bodem bestaat uit klei en kalksteen. In de zomer lopen de temperaturen door de theatervorm op. De helling zorgt voor natuurlijke drainage. Deze wijn bekomt elk jaar de beste kritieken en behaalt de hoogste scores. De prijs is navenant. Angélus past op de beste feesttafels en is een uitstekende begeleider van vleesgerechten.
